February 26, 2026 (Reims, France) — Vranken‑Pommery Monopole, one of France’s leading Champagne houses, has announced that it will operate under a new trading name: Maison Pommery & Associés. The change reflects a strategic decision to place the Pommery name—and its legacy of innovation—at the center of the group’s identity as it enters a new phase of premiumization and long-term value creation.
The announcement comes as the company enters what it defines as a founding year, marked by a rare convergence of historic milestones across its estates. In 2026, the group will celebrate the 190th anniversary of the creation of Champagne Pommery, the 50th anniversary of Champagne Vranken, the 40th anniversary of São Pedro das Águias in Portugal’s Douro Valley, and the 20th anniversary of Vranken Estates, which unites the group’s vineyard holdings across Champagne, Provence, Camargue, and Portugal. Together, these anniversaries underscore the breadth, longevity, and cohesion of a family-owned group rooted in terroir and guided by a long-term vision.
Few Champagne producers have shaped the category as profoundly as Pommery. In 1874, Madame Pommery created the world’s first Brut Champagne, redefining Champagne style with a drier, more precise expression that went on to influence global taste. That pioneering spirit—balancing heritage with forward-looking vision—remains a defining pillar of the Maison today.
The group’s renewed focus on Pommery is reflected in recent and upcoming releases, most notably Apanage 1874, a prestige cuvée created to mark the 150th anniversary of Brut Champagne. Conceived as a confidential cuvée dedicated to the culinary arts, Apanage 1874 offers a contemporary interpretation of Brut through the lens of the Maison’s qualitative reserve, anchored by its Réserve Perpétuelle. The collection now includes Apanage 1874 Blanc de Blancs, with a Rosé scheduled for release later this year, reinforcing the Maison’s dialogue between Champagne terroir and gastronomy.
This momentum continues with the current debut of Cuvée Louise 2008, the House’s emblematic prestige cuvée, further highlighting Pommery’s commitment to precision, aging potential, and terroir-driven Champagne.
Guided by the principle of la vérité du terroir, Maison Pommery & Associés has become a benchmark for sustainable, balanced, and highly precise viticulture. Across its vineyards, the House prioritizes safeguarding biodiversity and respecting the environment in order to express the purest essence of each terroir. This commitment to craftsmanship was recognized in 2025 with the designation of Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), honoring savoir-faire passed down generation after generation—from massal selection to traditional Champagne pressing, blending, and hand-executed cellar practices.
Based in Reims and set within its iconic estate and historic chalk cellars—a UNESCO World Heritage site—Maison Pommery has long existed at the crossroads of wine, art, and art de vivre. More than twenty years ago, the House inaugurated Experience Pommery, the first contemporary art exhibition staged within Champagne chalk cellars, today welcoming nearly 200,000 visitors annually. In spring 2026, the site will inaugurate its 19th contemporary art exhibition, titled Liberty, in tribute to the new chapter unfolding for the Maison.
With the transition to Maison Pommery & Associés, the group affirms its intention to honor its founding legacy while shaping the future of Champagne—through elevated cuvées, gastronomic relevance, cultural engagement, and a renewed global focus on the Pommery name.
