February 11, 2026 (Castelnuovo Berardenga, Tuscany) — San Felice Toscana A.D. 714 is pleased to announce the appointment of Francesca Giuggioli as Head Winemaker of its Chianti Classico estate, marking a natural evolution after more than 15 years of dedication to the historic property.
Born and raised in a region deeply connected to viticulture, Giuggioli developed an early passion for wine and the land. She holds a degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Florence and gained international experience during her academic training before beginning her professional career in Tuscany.
She joined San Felice Toscana A.D. 714 in 2008 and has since played a key role in overseeing production and winemaking across the group’s three estates — San Felice in Chianti Classico, Campogiovanni in Montalcino, and Bell’Aja in Bolgheri — contributing significantly to the overall stylistic identity and consistency of the wines over the years. Today, in her new role, Giuggioli brings together deep respect for raw materials, a strong connection to terroir, and a constant dialogue with scientific research. Her philosophy is simple yet profound: to interpret the territory and tell its story through the glass.
“Francesca’s new role represents the natural evolution of a journey that began many years ago. Her deep knowledge of our vineyards, her sensitivity to the territory, and her constant pursuit of quality make her the ideal person to lead San Felice Chianti Classico’s winemaking today,” said Carlo De Biasi, General Manager of San Felice Toscana A.D. 714. “Her vision perfectly reflects our commitment to excellence and long-term consistency.”
Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for San Felice’s Chianti Classico estate, which has recently strengthened its enological vision through a collaboration with renowned French consultant Thomas Duclos. This partnership reflects the broader strategic direction of the San Felice group, which includes the three Tuscan estates, all united by a shared commitment to quality, research, and precision.
With Giuggioli at the helm of winemaking, the Chianti Classico estate continues to build on its heritage while looking confidently toward the future.
About San Felice
San Felice, owned by the Allianz Group since 1970, is a forward-thinking company engaged in winemaking, hospitality, and fine dining. Its winemaking activities take place across three estates in Tuscany’s most prestigious appellations: Chianti Classico (San Felice estate), Montalcino (Campogiovanni estate), and Bolgheri (Bell’Aja estate). The company manages a total of 685 hectares, including 188 hectares of vineyards and 60 hectares of olive groves, with the rest dedicated to arable land and woodland. The estate has been shaped by a broad-reaching vineyard and olive grove replanting program as well as intensive research aimed at highlighting the uniqueness of each terroir, rediscovering native varieties, and assessing the performance of international ones. The winery produces around one million bottles annually, exclusively from estate-grown grapes.
San Felice’s commitment to sustainability continues through the adoption of regenerative viticulture practices, a carbon-cycle-based management model that restores soil health, prevents erosion, promotes biodiversity, and mitigates climate change impacts. The wines of San Felice, Campogiovanni, and Bell’Aja are available for purchase at the estate’s wine lounge, as well as in select wine shops and restaurants in Italy and abroad. Critics and industry rating publications regularly award top scores to the estate’s wines. Winemaking operations are overseen by Carlo De Biasi, General Manager of Agricola San Felice S.p.A.
Hospitality and dining services are based in the iconic village of San Felice, nestled within the estate’s vineyards. Borgo San Felice Resort is a 5-star “albergo diffuso” and a member of Relais & Châteaux. It has been awarded two Michelin Keys for its exceptional hospitality. The resort includes 63 rooms, of which 23 are Suites, 11 Prestige, and 29 Premium Deluxe. Two nearby countryside villas offer bespoke stays. The property also features The Botanic Spa, two tennis courts, and a gym.
