January 28, 2026 (Paris, France) — The Wine Origins Alliance (WOA), a global coalition dedicated to eliminating trade barriers on wine and protecting wine place names, will host a press event and special announcement on Monday, February 9 at 5:30 p.m. CET in conjunction with WineParis in Paris, France. The event will unveil the findings from a new global survey on non-tariff measures conducted by WOA, and will announce the two newest members of the Wine Origins Alliance for the first time.
The Wine Origins Alliance’s 36 member regions span five continents, representing more than 100,000 wineries and grape growers that have generated over one million jobs and more than $8 billion in global wine exports. Together, these regions aim to eliminate wine trade barriers, including retaliatory tariffs, and to protect the authenticity of wine region names. Last year, the Alliance commemorated its 20th anniversary and welcomed its 34th member, Ribera del Duero from Spain, at Wine Paris.
This year’s WineParis event will feature a discussion on the results of a new global survey on non-tariff measures and a discussion of which and where NTMs hurt most and how the wine industry can act collectively to combat them. The event will culminate in a signing ceremony to welcome two new members to the Alliance. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.
