November 5, 2025 (Healdsburg, CA) — In the face of a softer tourism market, three Sonoma County bed-and-breakfasts—The Grape Leaf Inn, Camellia Inn, and Calderwood Inn—have developed a new model for boutique lodging: curated, all-inclusive getaway packages that blend accommodations with exclusive wine country programming.

The strategy is paying off. Each package offered in 2025 has sold out, underscoring a shift in consumer preference toward intimate, high-value experiences over traditional overnight stays.
“These packages reframe what lodging can be,” said Oceann Ingram, Hospitality Director at Artisan Lodges. “Guests aren’t just booking a room. They’re booking access to winemakers, exclusive dinners, and authentic Wine Country moments—all designed for small groups that foster connection and community.”
Packages That Perform
Over the past year, the inns have rolled out a series of specialized itineraries that included:
- Summer in Wine Country with Mazzocco Winery (July 31-August 3) – Providing a private brandy tasting at the Grape Leaf Inn Speakeasy, Winemaker Dinner with celebrated Winemaker, Antoine Favero and a wine-centric pool party at the Grape Leaf Inn.
- Exclusive Winemaker Weekend with Chris Barrett (Sept. 14–16) – Featuring harvest- focused activities including tour of the exclusive Pezzi King Estate at peak harvest and a winemaker dinner with Winemaker Chris Barrett.
- All-Inclusive Harvest Getaway with Wilson Winery (Oct. 2–5) – Which included activities hosted by acclaimed Winemaker Diane Wilson: a grape stomp and cellar tour at Wilson Winery, vineyard hike at Matrix Winery, and a wine pairing dinner at deLorimier winery
- And the upcoming Late Harvest in Wine Country at Grape Leaf Inn (Nov. 13–16) – Luxury accommodations paired with vineyard tours and culinary experiences including a wine pairing dinner hosted by Rockpile Vineyards and Matrix Winery.
The model has not only delivered for the inns but also generated incremental revenue for winery partners, restaurants, and downtown Healdsburg businesses, making it a collaborative innovation within the region’s hospitality sector.
Looking Ahead
The program concludes its 2025 season with a holiday getaway December 5–7 at the Grape Leaf Inn, highlighted by a cocktail-style party at the newly renovated Soda Rock Winery tasting room at New Old Roma Station in Downtown Healdsburg, as well as the Merry Healdsburg Tree Lighting, and celebrations at Mazzocco Winery and Coyote Sonoma.
“Boutique lodging has always been about intimacy,” said Jon Pelleriti, CFO Wilson Artisan Wines & Artisan Lodges, “In challenging times, leaning into what makes small inns unique—personalized service, curated access, and close partnerships—has allowed us to not only stay relevant but thrive.”
