Livermore Valley Wine Month Expands with Signature Events, Special Tastings and Downtown Dining Deals All May

Featured events and special promotions invite Bay Area wine lovers to explore California’s historic Livermore Valley wine country.

April 21, 2026 (Livermore, CA) — The Livermore Valley Wine Community will celebrate Livermore Valley Wine Month with a full calendar of tastings, events and special offers throughout May. From events highlighting the valley’s signature varietals to downtown dining promotions and winery experiences, the month-long celebration invites wine lovers to explore one of California’s oldest and most welcoming wine regions.

“Livermore Valley Wine Month is about bringing our entire community together, our wineries, restaurants and visitors, to celebrate the wines that define our region,” said Brandi Lombardi, Executive Director of the Livermore Valley Wine Community. “Throughout May, guests can experience everything from intimate tastings with artisan producers to large-scale events that showcase the incredible quality and diversity of Livermore Valley wines.”

  • Sauvignon Blanc Soirée — May 1 at Concannon Vineyard (5-7pm)

Livermore Valley Wine Month begins on International Sauvignon Blanc Day with an elegant outdoor celebration at Concannon Vineyard. Guests will enjoy Livermore Valley Sauvignon Blanc paired with Spanish guitar music and Spanish- and Mexican-inspired bites in a relaxed vineyard setting.   • Livermore Valley Vintners Collective Release Party — May 3 at The Purple Orchid Resort (11am – 2pm)

Six winemakers will debut their collaborative 2023 vintage red blends at the scenic olive grove at The Purple Orchid Resort & Spa. The Derby-themed afternoon features pours of wines made from 100% Livermore Valley fruit alongside small bites from On the Vine Catering.   • Mother’s Day Weekend Celebrations — May 8–10 at various wineries.
    Wineries across the valley will host special experiences for Mother’s Day weekend, including vineyard picnics, brunches, curated tastings, live music, and food pairings. For a full list of Mother’s Day events, view here
  • Uncorked! — May 15 at McGrail Vineyards & Winery (6-9pm)
    The region’s premier annual wine showcase returns to McGrail Vineyards & Winery. Every wine poured will have earned a Gold Medal or higher at the California Signature Wine Awards. The evening includes an expert-led seminar and the live announcement of Uncorked! Best Red and Best White — Livermore Valley’s highest wine honors.   • Downtown Livermore Street Fest — May 16–17 in Downtown Livermore
    One of the East Bay’s longest-running festivals returns to Downtown Livermore for two days of wine, craft beer, live music, outdoor dining, and boutique shopping. Eight Livermore Valley wineries will pour in dedicated tasting lounges alongside four local breweries and more than a dozen live musical acts. No tickets required. 
  • Underground Chardonnay — May 21 at the Wente Caves (5-8pm)
    Held on International Chardonnay Day at Wente Vineyards, this unique underground tasting highlights the grape that helped define the region. Fourteen local winegrowers will pour a “Chardonnay Rainbow” ranging from crisp and bright to rich and full-bodied. Guests will also enjoy wood-fired pizza, Pacific Tide tacos, artisanal cheeses, and live music while learning about Livermore Valley’s historic connection to the Wente Chardonnay clone.   • Boutique Barrels of Livermore — May 23 at Pruett Estate Winery (12-4pm)
    Small-lot producers Omega Road Winery, Rosa Fierro Cellars, Sakura Winery, and Pruett Estate Winery will showcase five wines each in an intimate tasting highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship of Livermore Valley’s boutique wineries. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online
  • Cab Franc-A-Palooza — May 31 at The Purple Orchid Resort (12-4pm)

The month concludes with the fourth annual Cabernet Franc festival at The Purple Orchid Resort & Spa. More than 500 guests will taste 100+ Cabernet Franc wines from over 50 producers spanning California, France, Italy, and beyond, alongside food trucks, live music, and visiting winemakers. The event reflects the growing reputation of Livermore Valley as a leading producer of Cabernet Franc. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online.

Cork & Fork: A Downtown Wine & Dining Celebration

Throughout May, Cork & Fork invites diners to explore Livermore Valley wines while enjoying the city’s vibrant restaurant scene. Participating restaurants and wine bars in Downtown Livermore will offer $15 off any bottle of Livermore Valley wine purchased and enjoyed on-site, encouraging locals and visitors alike to discover wines grown just minutes from downtown. The initiative, funded through the support of Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert, helps support local wineries while driving traffic to downtown restaurants and wine bars during Livermore Valley Wine Month. Many wineries will also feature special promotions and tasting experiences throughout the month, including but not limited to:

  • Las Positas Vineyards is offering a mid-week library wine flight and shared pairing menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • Cuda Ridge Wines is hosting a 2-for-1 Bordeaux tasting flight throughout May.
  • Darcie Kent Estate Winery is providing a complimentary bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for guests who join the winery club during the month.
  • Del Valle Winery is presenting its “Sip, Savor & Snack” experience pairing five wines with chef-curated light bites.
  • Wood Family Vineyards is hosting a sunset seafood boil in the vineyards on May 24 featuring a seasonal seafood feast prepared by Cured Fish Bar.
