Aperture Cellars Announces Distribution Expansion into Nine New States, Marking a Major Growth Milestone

October 8, 2025 (Healdsburg, CA) — Aperture Cellars, the acclaimed Sonoma County winery known for producing world-class Bordeaux-style wines, is proud to announce a significant expansion of its wholesale network with new distribution partnerships in nine additional U.S. states. This strategic growth marks an important next phase for the brand, strengthening its national footprint and allowing Aperture to meet surging consumer demand in both existing and emerging markets.

The new partnerships include Quail Distributing in Nebraska; Vintage Wine Company in Michigan; Heidelberg Distributing in Kentucky and Ohio; and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Indiana, and Iowa.

Founded by first-generation winemaker Jesse Katz in 2009, Aperture Cellars has quickly become one of California’s most dynamic and respected wine producers. Built on a direct-to-consumer foundation with a loyal collector base and multiple 100-point wines, the brand is now accelerating its wholesale growth strategy, leveraging strong consumer momentum to deepen its presence in key markets across the country.

“Expanding Aperture into new markets marks an exciting milestone for our winery,” said Lauren Wong, VP of Sales and Marketing at Aperture Cellars. “We are grateful to partner with such esteemed distributors who share our vision and values, and we look forward to bringing our portfolio of expressive, Sonoma County wines to a broader audience of collectors and enthusiasts across the country.”

The partnerships will enable Aperture to build new relationships with trade partners, retailers, and restaurants, while also supporting on-the-ground brand initiatives such as winemaker dinners, events, and activations. These in-market engagements will further strengthen Aperture’s direct connection with consumers while positioning the brand for continued growth.

“Aperture Cellars represents the kind of innovative, world-class winemaking that aligns perfectly with our vision at Vintage Wine Company,” said Jill Admonius, Executive Vice President of Sales. “Adding these wines to our portfolio allows us to continue leading with distinctive offerings that excite both our trade partners and Michigan consumers. We’re proud to share Aperture’s artistry and story throughout the state.”

“At Heidelberg, we look to partner with wineries that share our passion for excellence, and Aperture Cellars exemplifies that,” said Joshua Mulberry, VP of Wine Trends and HP Spirits. “Their dedication to precision and innovation in winemaking aligns perfectly with our mission of connecting consumers to the very best wines in the world. We are honored to welcome Aperture to Kentucky and Ohio and eager to see the enthusiasm it will spark among wine enthusiasts in our region.”

This latest expansion builds on Aperture’s impressive momentum in the luxury wine sector. The brand’s portfolio, including its flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, Bordeaux Red Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chenin Blanc, has become a fixture on top wine lists and in collectors’ cellars. Aperture also holds the distinction of producing the first Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec from Alexander Valley to ever receive 100-point scores from leading critics.

With distribution now spanning 29 states and six countries, Aperture Cellars continues to scale strategically while maintaining the precision, quality, and artistry that define its approach to winemaking.
