Good Morning Friends!
As many of you know, after 11 wonderful years representing our Sonoma County Vintners (SCV) and Sonoma County Vintners Foundation (SCVF), I have made the decision to step down as Executive Director. My last official day will be Friday, August 15.
I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you.
It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life to work alongside all of you — our members, partners, foundation beneficiaries, SCV Board of Directors, community members, county officials, and of course, our incredible SCV team.
Together, we’ve navigated some of the most significant challenges our county and wine community have ever faced. These shared experiences have been among the most rewarding and impactful of my life. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with so many extraordinary people in such a special community.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the generosity, resilience and care that defines our wine community. Thank you — truly—for your unwavering support for SCV and SCVF, and for the friendships that have come from this work. I will never forget them!
I believe wholeheartedly in SCV’s mission and its role as a vital marketer, political advocate, educator and charitable champion in our region. I hope that tradition of impact and leadership continues for many years to come.
Although I’m stepping away from SCV and SCVF, I’m not going far — I’ll still be working within our Sonoma County wine industry and remain available to support this community however I can. It would be my sincere pleasure to stay connected.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together and am especially proud of the amazing SCV team. They are the most hardworking, caring, creative, solution-oriented and honorable people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. I am so fortunate to have produced so many meaningful projects side by side with them, and to have them in my life!
Thank you once again for the past 11 years. Words cannot express how much I care about our wine community, SCV, SCVF and Sonoma County. While my role at SCV may be ending, I look forward to staying in touch, collaborating where possible, and of course, enjoying a glass of wine and catching up in the future.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you! YOU are the best!
Cheers!

Michael Haney
