A milestone in a journey defined by integrity, responsibility, and innovation.
August 5, 2025 — Follador Prosecco is proud to announce its attainment of the Equalitas certification, a prestigious voluntary standard that promotes integrated sustainability in the wine industry. The certification recognises producers who demonstrate excellence across environmental, social, and economic practices.
This achievement affirms the company’s long-standing commitment to balancing the strength of its family tradition with a forward-thinking, responsible approach to innovation. Guided by a deep respect for the land and a clear vision for the future, Follador’s entire production model is built on sustainability.

With more than 250 years of heritage, the winery is now led by a new generation that has placed sustainability at the heart of its business strategy. The Equalitas certification marks the culmination of a rigorous journey across every phase of production, from vineyard to bottling. Each step has been designed to reduce environmental impact, enhance human capital, and foster a corporate culture that is open, inclusive, and aware.
In recent years, the company has turned its sustainability vision into concrete action through substantial investment. Initiatives include the adoption of low-impact technologies, improvements in energy and water efficiency, reduction of chemical treatments in the vineyard, and active protection of local biodiversity. Noteworthy efforts include:
- The use of FSC-certified paper for labels
- Participation in an international reforestation programme with Treedom
- Adoption of lighter glass bottles, reducing packaging emissions without compromising technical performance
- Installation of a photovoltaic system for energy self-sufficiency, ensuring energy autonomy and responsibility
Sustainability is embedded in the company’s culture – anchored in continuous improvement, respect for people, and long-term relationships built on trust and accountability. Special attention has also been paid to the management of seasonal workers, in collaboration with specialist agencies, and through initiatives supporting the local community—hallmarks of a modern and inclusive corporate welfare model.
Cristina Follador, Sales & Marketing Manager, comments:
“Achieving Equalitas certification is more than a recognition of the practices we’ve implemented – it’s a call to raise the bar even higher. For us, sustainability is not a marketing slogan – it’s a real, ongoing responsibility that shapes every decision we make. We believe the quality of our Prosecco should reflect our respect for the land, for people, and for future generations. Equalitas has enabled us to measure our commitment transparently and turn it into tangible value, present in every bottle we produce.”

With this milestone, Follador Prosecco strengthens its position as a leader in the shift toward a more sustainable and integrated model of viticulture. The company looks to the future with the ambition of further deepening its green commitment and helping to shape a wine industry that is more conscious, ethical, and environmentally responsible.
