July 25, 2025 (Napa Valley, CA) — Shafer Vineyards, one of Napa Valley’s most renowned wineries, is proud to announce the appointment of Christopher Avery as its new Chief Executive Officer.
With an impressive track record spanning over two decades in the fine wine industry, Avery brings deep expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for excellence to the role. His previous positions include President of Darioush, Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Trade Marketing for DAOU Family Estates, President of Patrimony Estate, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Opus One. Across these roles, Avery has been recognized for building dynamic, global brand strategies and fostering enduring relationships across the luxury wine market.

Avery begins his new role immediately. The executive search was successfully conducted by David Newlin from Newlin Associates.
