“Flegrella” Arrives for Children, an Interactive Path for Little Explorers
Immersive proposals aimed at national and international visitors looking for authentic experiences. Among the offerings are stops at the Agnano Thermal Baths, combining a winery visit and relaxation, or the Astroni Crater Nature Reserve, a WWF Oasis.

April 23, 2025 (Naples) — 360-degree experiential wine tourism in the Flegrean Fields. Cantine Astroni, a historic local winery, strengthens its bond with an area of exceptional charm, known for its volcanic nature, important archaeological sites, and stunning landscapes overlooking the Gulf of Pozzuoli. The winery, already a reference point for wine tourism in Italy, has created new immersive experiences that integrate wine culture, nature, archaeology, and relaxation, aimed at Italian and international visitors in search of authentic experiences.
“Visiting the winery alone is no longer enough: today, offering an immersive experience in the territory is essential” – says Cristina Varchetta, head of hospitality at Cantine Astroni – “The Flegrean Fields, with their extraordinary natural and archaeological richness, allow us to propose diverse and engaging activities, capable of satisfying an increasingly broad and international audience, attentive to the quality and originality of the experiences offered.”
Cantine Astroni has enriched its wine tourism offer with new experiences. In addition to the traditional tasting tours – Astroni, Phlegraios, Crùs, Superior Crùs – which offer guided paths through the winery’s signature wines, perfect for discovering the unique characteristics of the volcanic territory, there are also experiences dedicated to the winery’s premium wines, with insights into production methods, aging, and the history of each label. Now, visitors can choose the “Well-being and Taste” tour, created in collaboration with the Agnano Thermal Baths. This offering includes a standard version, available year-round, with thermal relaxation and a winery visit, and a special version that adds access to the Agnano Archaeological Site (normally closed to the public, but open on weekends in June for this occasion) with a tasting of the Astro, Colle Imperatrice, and Colle Rotondella wines. For nature lovers, the “The Enchantment of Astroni” tour is available, which includes a guided visit to the WWF Crater Astroni Nature Reserve, one of the most evocative and mysterious places in the Flegrean Fields, an ancient royal hunting reserve transformed into a natural paradise, followed by a walk through the vineyards and the winery, followed by a wine tasting and lunch. The available dates for this immersive experience through nature, history, wine, and the wonders of the Flegrean Fields are Saturday, May 3, Sunday, June 8, Saturday, July 12, Sunday, September 21, and Saturday, October 18.
For families, the Flegrella tour has been created, an educational path aimed at children, offering sensory activities and games to introduce them to the world of wine in a fun way, with a final tasting of natural grape juice and snacks. The Flegrella tour was created to explore wine with all five senses. A special path entirely dedicated to the little ones to discover the magic of nature, vineyards, and wine in a playful and engaging way. In addition to discovering the Flegrean Fields with Flegrella, children will learn about history and the territory through an illustrated story designed for young children, embark on a guided adventure to learn about geology, volcanoes, and viticulture in a simple and captivating language, and explore the five senses: sight, observing the colors of nature and vineyard elements; smell, sniffing different aromas to learn to distinguish wine scents; taste, playing with water, bitterness, sweetness, salt, and tannin to discover the differences between flavors; touch, feeling the earth, leaves, and materials of the vineyard to explore their differences; hearing, listening to the sounds of nature and the work in the winery. The Flegrella tour will continue with a special tasting for children with a glass of natural grape juice to approach the world of wine in an educational way, along with a tasty appetizer or first course designed for the little ones.
