Alma Rosa Winery rallies community support for its sixth annual Peace of Mind fundraising walk on May 17
(March 31, 2025; Buellton, Calif.)—Santa Barbara County’s Alma Rosa Winery is set to host its sixth annual Peace of Mind: 10,000 Steps in the Right Direction fundraising walk on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Peace of Mind was conceived by Alma Rosa’s proprietors Bob and Barb Zorich to support community services for mental health, as well as research and treatment for anxiety and depression. Over the last five years the winery’s Peace of Mind fundraising campaign has raised $955,000 for two organizations, One Mind and the Mental Wellness Center in Santa Barbara.

“Each year, this event highlights the incredible power of community in advancing mental health awareness and support,” said proprietor Bob Zorich. “This May, as we unite during Mental Health Awareness Month, we strive to surpass the one-million-dollar milestone—funding that will directly benefit One Mind and the Mental Wellness Center. Every step we take and every dollar we raise creates a lasting impact on those facing mental health challenges. We are profoundly grateful to everyone who joins us in this meaningful mission to drive change and offer hope.”
Early bird pricing for the walk, $50 per person, is available through April 15, 2025. Regular pricing, $60 per person, runs from April 16 until 3:00 p.m. on May 16, 2025. To participate, interested individuals may visit the event’s website to register for the walk, view leaderboards or make personal donations to a beneficiary of their choice. Participants who register a group of five or more people as a team for the event will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a complimentary wine tasting party for up to 12 people at Alma Rosa’s historic Ranch House. All proceeds from the walk, including the registration fee, will benefit One Mind™ and Mental Wellness Center in Santa Barbara.
On Saturday, May 17 event check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Onsite parking will be available at 7250 Santa Rosa Road, Buellton, CA. Complimentary coffee, juice, electrolyte packets and snacks will be provided courtesy of Peace of Mind sponsors including Starbucks, Pressed Juicery, LMNT, Magic Mind and David Protein, as well as sunscreen from Vacation Sunscreen. Prior to the start of the walk at 9:00 a.m., Annmarie Cameron, CEO of the Mental Wellness Center, and Brandon Staglin, Co-Founder & Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer of OneMind™, will give speeches about the event’s impact at-large. The 10,000 step, or 4.5-mile walk, across varied terrain will last approximately two hours. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and non-alcoholic refreshments at the top of the estate.
Following the walk, the winery will host an intimate reception at a shaded hillside tasting space, featuring the latest releases from Alma Rosa’s Winemaker Samra Morris, as well as from other local wineries including The Hilt Estate, Peake Ranch Winery, Sanford Winery and Clementine Carter Wines. The event will also feature live music by local Santa Barbara duo Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan, along with food available for purchase from Santa Barbara Food Connection. Non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided by additional sponsors including Culture Pop, Leisure Project and Suzy Zimmerman State Farm Insurance.
To amplify and incentivize the fundraising efforts of the event, the Zorichs will be matching individual donations dollar-for-dollar up to $35,000 for each organization, for a total of up to $70,000, and corporate donations dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.
