March 6, 2025 (WENATCHEE, WA) — The Washington Winegrowers Association today announced a leadership transition, naming Sara Higgins as Interim Executive Director following the announced departure of Colleen Frei.
Sara Higgins, who has been an integral part of the Washington Winegrowers Association for over a decade, will step into the interim executive role. Most recently serving as Assistant Executive Director, Higgins has extensive experience from her position as CEO of 501 Consultants, the long-standing management partner of the association.
For nearly 30 years, 501 Consultants has managed the Washington Winegrowers Association’s critical operations, including membership services, advocacy, budgets, marketing, education, webinars, and professional development programs. Higgins’s deep understanding of the organization’s mission and operations positions her well to lead during this transition.
“We are confident in Sara’s ability to continue the strong work of the Washington Winegrowers Association,” said Dustin Tobin, Board President. “Her 15 years of experience and commitment to our industry will ensure continued success and support for Washington’s winegrowers.”
Colleen Frei, who is departing from 501 Consultants, has been a valued leader in the organization. Her contributions have been significant in advancing the association’s goals, advocacy, and supporting the Washington wine industry.
The Washington Winegrowers Association remains committed to serving its members and supporting the continued growth and success of Washington’s wine industry.
