Expands Estate Fruit Sourcing and Commitment to Producing Premium Sonoma County Wines
HEALDSBURG, Calif., June 27, 2023 — Today, Rodney Strong Wine Estates (RSWE) – family-owned, Sonoma County wine company that includes Rodney Strong Vineyards, Davis Bynum Wines, and ROWEN Wine Company – announced the acquisition of River West Vineyard, a premium quality vineyard totaling 335 acres in the world-renowned Russian River Valley appellation of California.

River West Vineyard has served as a single vineyard source of Chardonnay for several Rodney Strong Vineyards and Davis Bynum Wines since the late 1970s. The vineyard, first planted in the 1930s, is located in the Middle Reach Neighborhood of Russian River Valley and is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and one hundred-year-old Zinfandel vines. The River West Vineyard acquisition brings Rodney Strong Wine Estates’ total Sonoma County estate vineyard holdings to 1,158 acres, further cementing their position as leaders in Sonoma County farming and winemaking.
“Our acquisition of this vineyard, which is perfectly situated on West Side Road in the heart of the Russian River Valley, will elevate the quality of our wines and is an important step of our ‘Ladder to Luxury’ strategic plan that will drive our winery in the coming decades,” continued Seidenfeld.
