With the dynamic motto “Discover the Taste of Tomorrow,” ProWein will present itself in a fresh, modern look and with a new hall layout. The entire world of wines and spirits will be represented in Düsseldorf, Germany, from March 16 – 18, 2025. The exclusive supporting program will be made even more attractive with the high-profile ProWein Forum addressing current business topics and promoting exchange within the sector.
September 4, 2024 — It is already apparent now that ProWein will again be the summit meeting for the international wine and spirits industries in 2025. On the exhibitor side, over 60 nations will be represented with wines and spirits. The new Business Forum will play a central role. With the expansion of the existing ProWein Forum, more expert presentations on current issues relevant to the industry will be offered in addition to the high-quality Masterclasses. This means there will be even more opportunities to network with the leading minds and industry experts at ProWein. Peter Schmitz, Director of ProWein, emphasizes: “Despite or precisely because times are so challenging, there is a great interest in ProWein. We are massively investing in new offers and services to provide the sector with exactly the support it needs now.”
The complete world of wines and spirits
Although official admission of all exhibitors is still pending, it is already clear at this stage that ProWein 2025 will perform very well. The new, more condensed hall layout was rated as positive across the board. In now eleven halls the complete world of wines and spirits can be explored with the motto “Discover the Taste of Tomorrow”.
Germany will again have a strong representation and will occupy Halls 1 and 4, including all wine-growing regions, the VDP, the MUNDUS VINI tasting zone as well as the Gastro-Lounge “urban gastronomy by #asktoni & ProWein”. The large organic area with numerous individual exhibitors and associations, the special show Organic World and the presentation of the sustainability prize CARLO by Fair and Green will provide many new impulses. The no/low area is currently experiencing incredible demand, so that the ProWein Zero area has increased by half. As part of the restructuring, the Concept Store – the special show on the marketing of wine and spirits at the point of sale – and the special show Packaging & Design will also move to Hall 4.
Italy is the world’s largest wine producer and has one of the most diverse ranges of grapes in Europe. Therefore the presence of “Bella Italia” at ProWein in Halls 15 and 16 is very large. The portfolio of participating companies will range from small boutique wineries and newcomers on the international stage to traditional export companies. In addition, all 20 regions will be represented, including the Italian Trade Agency – ITA/ICE, which is planning an extensive program with Masterclasses and complimentary tastings.
France will present a focused range in Hall 10, including the exquisite Champagne Lounge, the exclusive tasting of “Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux” (March 17) and the France Forum by Business France. All growing regions will be on site, including numerous market leaders such as Castel Frères, Albert Bichot, Boisset and Gérard Bertrand. In addition to the Champagne Lounge many renowned champagne houses such as Nicolas Feuillatte, Champagne Pannier, Laurent Lequart, Champagne Lallier and Champagne Mailly have announced their participation.
Spain will also have a strong presence again. “Heavyweights” such as Miguel Torres, Codorníu, Marqués de Cáceres, García Carrion, Spanish Fine Wines, Pere Ventura and Félix Solís have signed dup. In addition, there will be numerous regions such as Valenciana, Castilla y Leon and the large participation of ICEX and La Rioja.
The new world will also present itself in all its diversity at its new location in Hall 12. The U.S. will be represented by California, Washington and Oregon. Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay will be there from South America, as will numerous producers from South Africa. Oceania will be represented by Australia and New Zealand and Asia by Japan, Korea and China, among others.
Trade visitors will now find the complete range from Portugal in Hall 9 – together with a very strong presence from Central and Eastern Europe with an expected 15 different country pavilions. Greece has also been relocated and will in future share Hall 17 with Austria.
Spirits in the spotlight
There is also a positive mood in the spirits sector. The ProSpirits brand world, which was launched very successfully at ProWein 2024, is building on its great success and will be back in Hall 5. Alongside the classics, it will focus especially on trending themes such as whisk(e)y, low-alcohol beverages, rum and fruit brandies. Furthermore, a tasting zone and bar are planned by ISW (Meininger’s International Spirit Award). Again located in the immediate proximity of ProSpirits will be the trend show “same but different”in Hall 7.0 for the urban bar scene. This is where pioneers, trendsetters and market leaders in the growth segments of craft spirits, craft beer and cider will present themselves – the perfect choice especially for trade visitors from trend gastronomy, the bar scene but also food retail. Both areas are true visitor attractions responding to the strong demand in the spirits segment.
