Alexander Valley Winegrowers Celebrates 40th Anniversary as an American Viticultural Area

Healdsburg, Calif – April 16, 2024 — This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Alexander Valley Winegrowers as an esteemed American Viticultural Area (AVA). Established in 1984, this vibrant community consists of 33 wineries, 75 winegrowers, and 19 community partners, all dedicated to promoting and preserving the exceptional quality of Alexander Valley’s wines and wine grapes.

In celebration of this significant milestone, the valley has launched a year-long series of festivities. New “Welcome to Alexander Valley” signs now greet visitors, enhancing the region’s welcoming atmosphere. Participating wineries are featuring exceptional vintages in their tastings, contributing a special touch to the anniversary events.

Throughout the year, the Alexander Valley Winegrowers will also be sharing captivating stories on their website and across social media platforms. These narratives highlight the rich history, traditions, and people who have shaped the region’s wine legacy.
