“We are very proud to partner with Disney on DOTN, a production that brings grandeur back to the big screen, a timeless story set more than 80 years ago and yet still so modern,” said Véronique Bonnie, Malartic’s co-owner. “At Malartic, we too work tirelessly to honor the heritage of our estate, bringing emotions to our wine lovers and sharing our vision of excellence without compromise.”

The Bonnies have a particular affinity with Death on the Nile because the main character, the famous detective Hercule Poirot – played by Kenneth Branagh – is also Belgian. The actor-director-producer of the new 20th Century Studios film has also signed the label of an exceptional 6-liter bottle of Malartic (Imperial), engraved Death on the Nile, which was sold at auction in November 2020 to benefit the Movember charity. Movember works for men’s health and its emblem recalls the famous mustache of Belgian detective Poirot.

Malartic made its first Hollywood appearance when they sponsored the American Cinematheque Awards in 2019 which honored Charlize Theron. They returned as the wine of the gala again this year at awards honoring Scarlett Johansson.  You can also catch Malartic on season 2 of Emily in Paris on December 22nd, as Emily continues her adventures in Paris and her love of all things « French» including Malartic!

The chateau aired a 40-part YouTube series in 2020 called le Grand Voyage, allowing a new and wider audience to discover all aspects of Bordeaux wines. They also created a book, The Four Seasons of Malartic, a 100-page photo color book with 24 recipe favorites from the Bonnie family who have owned the estate for nearly 25 years.

Château Malartic-Lagravière, located on the outskirts of Bordeaux, in the heart of the historic Bordeaux vineyards, is open for various workshops, tastings, and meals, but now everyone can revel in Malartic on the big screen, enjoying a glamorous, romantic and somewhat eventful trip on the Nile.

About Château Malartic Lagravière:

Château Malartic-Lagravière is a 53-ha (140-acre) vineyard producing red and white Bordeaux wines, located in Léognan, France. The estate is one of the only six classified growths both for its red and white (1953 Graves Classification). Since acquiring Château Malartic-Lagravière in 1997, the Bonnie family has continued to work tirelessly to perfect the estate’s wines and carry them to the highest level.

With a strong environmental commitment using the best sustainable practices and a constant quest for innovation in improving the quality of the wines, they develop complex, balanced, elegant wines, so tailored they can be considered ‘haute-couture’. They are well known all over the world amongst the very best wines in the Pessac-Léognan appellation and receive visitors for premium hospitality tours all the yearlong. In 2005, Château Gazin Rocquencourt (Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux) and Bodega DiamAndes (Mendoza, Argentina) were added, creating the Vignobles Malartic.
