NEW YORK, NY – November 3, 2026 – Platinum Media, a New York-based marketing agency specializing in the wine, spirits, and lifestyle industries, is pleased to announce its new partnership with Capanna Winery, a family-owned estate located north of Montalcino. The collaboration will focus on strengthening Capanna Winery’s presence in the United States and expanding awareness of its wines, heritage, and family story among U.S. wine trade media, industry professionals, and consumers.
Founded in 1957 and still family-owned today, Capanna Winery has deep roots in the history of Brunello di Montalcino. The estate was established by Giuseppe Cencioni, one of the pioneers of modern Brunello, whose first vintage dates back to 1964. In 1967, Cencioni became one of the 25 founding members of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino.
Today, the estate is led by Patrizio and Amedeo Cencioni, the founder’s grandson and great-grandson, respectively, representing the third and fourth generations of the family. Together, they continue to build on Capanna’s longstanding tradition, bringing the winery’s wines and story to new generations of wine enthusiasts around the world.
“Representing the fourth generation of my family to work in these vineyards, I see SanGioBì, our 100% Sangiovese vinified as a white wine, as the result of the curiosity we have always had about this grape variety,” says Amedeo Cencioni. “Together with Platinum Media, we want American wine lovers to discover it alongside our Brunello, Rosso, and Moscadello, and to get to know the family behind the wines.”
As part of the new partnership, Platinum Media will lead Capanna Winery’s public relations efforts in the United States, focusing on media relations, trade engagement, and strategic storytelling. Communications will highlight the winery’s Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Brunello di Montalcino Nicco, Rosso del Cerro, Moscadello, and SanGioBì, the estate’s distinctive white wine made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The wines are imported into the United States by Broadbent Selections.
The partnership comes at an important time for Capanna in the U.S. market, with the 2021 Brunello di Montalcino currently available and the 2022 vintage set to make its debut in January 2027. These new releases will provide an opportunity to introduce the wines and the family’s story to a broader audience of American trade professionals, media, and consumers.
“My grandfather Giuseppe was one of the founding members of the Consorzio in 1967, and the United States has long been a key market for Brunello and for our family,” says Patrizio Cencioni. “Together with Platinum Media and our importer, Broadbent Selections, we want to share the story of Capanna and our wines with many more people across the country.”
For more than six decades, the Cencioni family has combined a deep respect for Montalcino’s traditions with an entrepreneurial approach to the estate’s continued development. This balance between heritage and a forward-looking vision has remained central to the winery’s identity as the family has expanded its operations while keeping the estate firmly rooted in its origins and family values.
