Wineries across North America are invited to enter the continent’s largest wine competition and kick off their 2027 marketing year with award-winning recognition.
November 2, 2026 (Cloverdale, CA) — The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC), the largest competition of North American wines, is inviting wineries across the continent to submit their entries for the 2027 competition. Wineries that register by November 20, 2026, can take advantage of special early-bird entry fees.

“Times are tough, and competitions can be expensive, but consider this an investment in marketing your wines,” said Jim Trezise, a professional judge who served as President of WineAmerica beginning in January 2017 after more than 25 years on the organization’s Executive Committee. “Your entry fees will likely generate a handsome ROI in recognition and respect, allowing you to use this third-party expert endorsement to sell your wines and boost your bottom line.”
As the largest competition of North American wines and the first major wine competition of the year, the SFCWC offers wineries an opportunity to earn recognition early and leverage their results in marketing efforts throughout 2027. Wineries are encouraged to register early to secure the discounted entry rate before the November 20 deadline.
