An international award for sustainability and social impact that makes it the only Chilean hotel recognized in this global program, which assesses the footprint luxury hotels leave on their surroundings.
October 22, 2026 — Hotel Casa Real at Viña Santa Rita has been named “Regenerative Luxury Wine Estate of the Year” at the Regenera Luxury Hospitality Awards 2026, which received 164 entries and presented 23 awards to hotels in 17 countries.

It was the only Chilean hotel honored in this inaugural edition, and its award was the only one dedicated to wine and terroir.
The Regenera Luxury Awards were launched in March at ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse), one of the world’s leading travel trade fairs. They recognize luxury hotels for their relationship with the environment, heritage and neighboring communities.
To compete, each hotel submitted around one hundred documents supporting its practices, which were reviewed according to their level of verification. In addition to its award, Casa Real was a finalist in Cultural Heritage & Community Partnership Excellence, a category that evaluates heritage stewardship and community ties.
In the area of culture and community, Casa Real’s assessment covered five dimensions: heritage conservation, community relations, local value creation, the guest’s connection to the territory, and long-term governance.
“Santa Rita has more than 145 years of history, and Hotel Casa Real is a central part of it. This distinction makes us very proud and shows that its essence, what makes it unique and gives it meaning, transcends time and is recognized by others. We believe that true luxury lies in staying true to that essence. The present is the bridge between the past and the future, and our responsibility to future generations is to preserve our history and carry it forward”, said Elena Carretero, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability and Tourism Director at Viña Santa Rita.
Hotel Casa Real is located in Alto Jahuel, in the Maipo Valley, about 45 minutes from Santiago. It occupies the summer residence of Domingo Fernández Concha, who founded Viña Santa Rita in 1880. The house was designed by German architect Teodoro Burchard.
It has 16 rooms, surrounded by a 40-hectare park designed by Guillermo Renner. The house and park have been a National Historic Monument since 1972.
The estate is also home to Doña Paula restaurant, housed in the colonial house where Paula Jaraquemada sheltered 120 patriots during Chile’s struggle for independence, and the Andean Museum of the Claro Vial Foundation, with more than 3,000 archaeological pieces.
In 2024, Travel + Leisure named Hotel Casa Real among the 40 best hotels in the world and the second best in South America in its World’s Best Awards, while Condé Nast Traveler has included it in its Readers’ Choice Awards for three consecutive years (2023, 2024 and 2025). Booking.com also gave it the Traveller Review Award in 2025 and 2026, highlighting its hospitality and service. Finally, this year the hotel received its first MICHELIN Key.
