October 20, 2026 (Mád, Hungary) — HOLDVÖLGY, the Tokaj wine estate based in Mád, has won three gold medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), held in Thuir, France, with results announced on 20 October. Across the entire competition, the international jury awarded Gold or Grand Gold to just 26 natural sweet wines. With three of them, HOLDVÖLGY, already named Hungary’s Winery of the Year 2026, stands out as one of the most decorated wineries of the competition.

Tokaji success on the international stage: HOLDVÖLGY finishes third in the overall medal ranking at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
The official results of this prestigious competition, held in Thuir in the heart of the Roussillon wine region in southern France, were announced on 20 October. At one of the wine world’s most rigorous blind tastings, the international jury of experts, sommeliers and wine writers was exceptionally sparing with its awards. While fortified wines dominated the field (43 Gold and Grand Gold medals), only 26 wines reached Gold level in the category of traditional naturalsweet wines, and the sweet sparkling category produced one Gold and one Grand Gold. In total, the 417 wines entered earned just 9 Grand Gold and 62 Gold medals.
From this very narrow elite, HOLDVÖLGY stood out by winning three gold medals on its own. Having secured more than ten percent of the 26 gold medals awarded to still sweet wines, the Mád estate took third place in the overall ranking by number of medals, confirming the outstanding quality of its single-vineyard wines and premium sweet wine specialities.
The estate earned the highest distinction with the following wines:
- HOLDVÖLGY Culture 2017 (Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos): Fine and complex, revealing lavish aromas of honey and brioche, rounded out by subtle hints of saffron, vanilla and beeswax. Rich, fresh and remarkably expressive on the palate; its perfect balance is crowned by beautiful silkiness and an elegant, long finish.
- HOLDVÖLGY Culture 2021 (Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos): A wine with a captivating nose, where notes of fennel, orange peel, saffron and cinnamon are joined by dried apricot and striking freshness. Rich and vibrant on the palate, with lively, remarkable acidity, hints of thyme and white pepper, exceptional balance and an expressive finish.
- HOLDVÖLGY Intuition No1 2017 (Tokaji Zéta Szamorodni): A wine of refined elegance and pure expression, showing lime, clementine and honey on the nose. Exceptional on the palate, silky and finely structured; notes of honey, saffron and ginger are accompanied by superb freshness, a clean finish and remarkable length.
“Winning three gold medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, and the third place in the overall ranking that comes with it, is a source of immense pride and an important milestone for us,” said Gergő Jójárt, Estate Director of HOLDVÖLGY. “It is particularly telling that while fortified wines dominated the field, three of the 26 gold medals awarded to still wines went to our cellar. This result is a serious professional recognition, and it proves that the precise, humble work we do in Mád’s historic vineyards ranks among the very best, even by the strictest international standards.” With this outstanding performance, HOLDVÖLGY has further strengthened its position in the premium wine market and brought another prestigious accolade to the Tokaj wine region.
