NAPA VALLEY, Calif. (October 19, 2026): Continuum Estate announces the national wholesale release of Tim Mondavi’s 50th vintage, the 2023 Continuum, available through select distribution partners in 47 markets across the United States and its territories. The release marks a personal milestone for Tim and the realization of his family’s vision for the estate, bringing vineyard, winery, cave and hospitality together at their Sage Mountain Vineyard on Pritchard Hill.
“With each of our now four generations, we have been able to take the art of food and wine to an ever higher level,” said Tim. “Continuum represents a clarity of focus for a hillside estate vineyard that would not have been possible without everything that came before, and everything that will follow.”
Fifty Vintages
Over fifty vintages, Tim has approached winemaking with patience, observation, and reverence for the land. He was at the forefront, helping to guide research and advancements in the vineyards and winemaking at his father’s eponymous winery during a revolutionary time in the world of wine.
Alongside making wines for his family, he helped shape Napa Valley’s AVA and forged international partnerships with notable winemaking families in France, Italy and Chile. Working alongside his father, Robert, and Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild, he helped launch Opus One, crafting its inaugural 1979 vintage with Mouton winemaker Lucien Sionneau and guiding its winemaking for more than two decades. He spearheaded additional joint ventures for his family with the Frescobaldis in Italy and Eduardo Chadwick and the Errázuriz family in Chile.
Throughout, he has championed what Robert called “the gracious way of life”—wine’s place at the table alongside great food and good company. In 2005, Tim, his sister Marcia and their families founded Continuum to bring that experience and philosophy into focus, with a single purpose: to grow, produce and bottle estate wines capable of standing among the finest in the world.
2023 Continuum

The 2023 growing season brought cool conditions and ample sunlight, allowing gentle ripening over an extended period and yielding wines of vibrancy, depth and balance. The resulting Continuum blends 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot.
Cabernet Franc’s prominent role reflects the estate’s growing conditions. Above the fog line, the vineyards receive more sunlight and experience more moderate day-to-night temperatures. Together with the volcanic soils, these conditions bring Cabernet Franc to exquisite ripeness while preserving its vibrancy and floral delicacy.
Grown in estate vineyards farmed using organic and regenerative practices and produced and bottled entirely on the estate, the 2023 Continuum has a suggested retail price of $350 per bottle, with [3,500] cases produced.
An Estate Fully Realized
With sweeping views of Napa Valley and the San Francisco Bay, the new Estate House was designed by Nobili Marqués Arquitectura with Katie Martinez Design and built by Grassi & Associates of Napa. Its aesthetic draws from the surrounding volcanic soil and boulders, native vegetation and the vines themselves. Two tasting rooms, a central commercial kitchen reflecting the family’s Italian heritage celebrating food and wine, and Chiara Mondavi’s original painting “Light of the Vine”—the image on the Continuum label— anchor the guest experience.
The 12,170-square-foot Estate Cave is carved from Pritchard Hill’s volcanic lava-flow rock. Its stable temperature and humidity allow the wines to age naturally within the mountain that produced them, without mechanical climate control.
“My grandfather dedicated his life to promoting wine as a civilizing influence, believing it deserves a place at the American table alongside great food and good company,” said Carissa Mondavi, a fourth-generation partner at Continuum. “This estate, along with the hospitality provided by our family and team, continues and enhances that mission.”
The Mondavi family welcomes members of the trade to visit the vineyard, winery and new Estate House at Continuum Estate to taste and learn about the wines and their growing environment on Pritchard Hill. For more information, contact Raul Toscano via email at raul@continuumestate.com.
