Blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskeys was Finished in French Oak Casks
October 13, 2026 (Louisville, KY) — Barrell Craft Spirits® (BCS), the original independent blender of unique aged, cask strength whiskey since 2013, today introduced a 12-year French Toast(ed) Bourbon Whiskey. The new expression is part of the company’s Red Label Series, which features age-stated whiskeys and uses finishing casks to elevate blends. These whiskeys offer a twist on BCS’ classics and pay homage to its origins and some of its favorite products.
The new expression is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys distilled in IN, KY, TN, and WY, aged for 12-17 years, and finished in multiple French oak cask types (with a focus on Grand Chauffe barrels for deeper, more complex flavor) of varying toast levels at 107.24 proof (53.62% ABV). French toast-inspired flavors naturally emerged from the blend, including layers of toasted brioche, vanilla custard, roasted nuts, cinnamon, clove, and crème brülée, which complement the richness of mature bourbon and inspired the name.
“This is our second release of a 12-year bourbon finished in French Oak,” said BCS Founder Joe Beatrice. “While this bourbon whiskey shares the same foundation as our first release, we take a vintage-like approach with each batch, allowing every expression to develop its own distinct character.”
