Hillebrand Gori – A Company of DHL, Launches GoGreen Plus Base and Premium to Give Beverage Shippers More Choice in Transport Decarbonization

October 5, 2026 (Bonn, Germany) — Hillebrand Gori – a company of DHL and a leading beverage logistics provider, today launched GoGreen Plus1) Base and GoGreen Plus Premium. The two solutions give beverage shippers greater choice in how they address transport-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with options designed to support different decarbonization ambitions, transport requirements and cost considerations. Both solutions support transport decarbonization through the use of alternative fuels within Hillebrand Gori’s logistics network and apply a verified book-and-claim methodology to allocate the associated emissions reductions to selected customer shipments.

Dominique von Orelli, Chief Executive Officer at Hillebrand Gori: “Beverage companies are looking for practical ways to make progress on transport decarbonization while maintaining efficient and resilient supply chains. With GoGreen Plus Base and Premium, we are giving customers greater choice and flexibility to support their decarbonization goals in a way that fits their business.”

Decarbonization that fits customers’ businesses

GoGreen Plus Base provides a simple entry point to transport decarbonization. It offers regional flat-fee pricing and a 10% reduction in main-haul well-to-wake GHG emissions for shipments, helping customers plan their costs while taking a consistent step toward lower-emission transport.

GoGreen Plus Premium is designed for customers seeking higher levels of emissions reduction. It offers lane-level pricing and can deliver up to an approximately 85% reduction in main-haul well-to-wake GHG emissions on shipments. For eligible ocean freight trade lanes, the solution may also include the waiver of EU-ETS maritime surcharges.

Both solutions are available for Full-Container Load and Less-than-Container Load – FCL, LCL – as well as air freight shipments. Customers can apply GoGreen Plus to individual bookings, selected trade lanes or broader transport volumes, depending on their requirements.

“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to transport decarbonization,” said Carolin Haas, Global Head of the GoGreen Program at Hillebrand Gori. “Different supply chains require different solutions. GoGreen Plus Base and Premium are designed to address varying business and logistics requirements. Both provide flexible pathways to reach emissions reduction goals fitting our customers’ needs while providing verified emissions reduction allocation through our book-and-claim approach.”

Verified emissions reductions through book-and-claim

GoGreen Plus supports GHG emissions reduction through the use of sustainable fuels within Hillebrand Gori’s logistics network. For ocean freight, this includes Sustainable Marine Fuel, while Sustainable Aviation Fuel can be used for air freight. Through the book-and-claim methodology, the sustainable fuel does not necessarily need to be physically used for the specific shipment. Instead, the associated emissions reduction is allocated to customer transport activity within the same transport mode through a verified accounting process. This approach enables the use of sustainable fuels where they are available while making the associated emissions reductions accessible across the wider logistics network.

The launch also comes as book-and-claim methodologies gain broader recognition among standard setters and regulators. In June 2026, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) included book-and-claim within its updated Corporate Net-Zero Standard 2.0, recognizing it as a valid decarbonization approach, particularly where further direct emissions reductions are not feasible and robust safeguards are in place.

Helping the beverage industry move forward

As sustainability expectations, reporting requirements and regulatory frameworks continue to evolve, Hillebrand Gori remains committed to providing practical solutions that help customers manage transport emissions without compromising supply chain performance. The launch of GoGreen Plus Base and Premium represents the latest step in supporting beverage businesses in addressing transport emissions while maintaining supply chain performance.

1) GoGreen Plus is a value-added service to a DHL shipment contributing to decarbonization measures within DHL’s logistics network. By using alternative fuels and/or technologies DHL reduces the usage of fossil fuels in the mode of transport used for the GoGreen Plus shipment. This does not necessarily mean that the specific shipment is physically transported with the assets using these fuels or technologies. Further information, e.g. on concrete decarbonization measures is available on the DHL Group website.
