The first direct-from-the-estate Angelus offering of this scale brings rare cuvées, library vintages and a one-of-a-kind estate experience to Acker’s US auction on October 17, 2026.
October 1, 2026 (Saint-Émilion and New York City) — Château Angelus and Acker, the world’s largest fine and rare wine auction house, today announced an exceptional single-estate consignment offered within Acker’s US auction on October 17, 2026. The sale is conducted in Delaware and livestreamed to a live bidding room at Marea in New York City. Offered direct from the château, this is the largest offering of Château Angelus ever brought to auction, and a rare opportunity to acquire the estate’s wines with impeccable provenance.

Founded in 1782, Château Angelus has remained under the stewardship of the de Boüard de Laforest family for eight generations. Since 2012, it has been led by Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, the third woman to head the estate in its nearly 250-year history.
Founded in 1820, Acker is America’s oldest wine merchant and the world’s largest fine and rare wine auction house, accounting for 42% of the global market. For three generations, it has been led by the Kapon family and currently John Kapon, who in 2017 joined forces with Irv and Jay Goldman.
“We have never opened the cellar in this way before. Many of these bottles have been kept at the château for generations, so sharing them now is about more than offering a collection of vintages. Alongside library vintages reaching back to the 1950s, large formats, and even our Grand Vin Blanc, which has never before been sold, one wine stands apart. Élisabeth Bouchet, my great-grandmother, played a significant role in the management of the property, and the Cabernet Franc later planted in her name remains central to the estate today. It feels fitting that the cuvée bearing her name should have a special place in this sale. American collectors have championed Angelus for decades, and Acker’s long relationship with those collectors made it a natural partner for an offering of this scale.” Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, President and CEO, Château Angelus Irv Goldman, Chief Executive Officer of Acker, remarked: “It is an honor to be working with Château Angelus, whose wines I have long adored and collected myself. Bordeaux remains the backbone of every great fine wine collection, and there is no better place to start than Angelus, one of Saint-Émilion’s shining stars. My thanks to Stéphanie and her whole team for sharing such incredible wines from their distinguished library.“
At the heart of the sale: Hommage à Élisabeth Bouchet
Eight lots feature Hommage à Élisabeth Bouchet, a 100 percent Cabernet Franc cuvée and one of the most exclusive wines that Angelus makes. It is produced from a single half-hectare parcel in the historic heart of the property, where vines more than 70 years old grow in clay-scree-limestone soils.
The wine honors Élisabeth Bouchet, who married Maurice de Boüard de Laforest in 1921 and brought the “Clos de L’Angelus” into the family. Maurice later replanted a parcel with Cabernet Franc, locally known as “Bouchet”, in her name. After his death, Élisabeth led the estate and later passed it on to their children.
The consignment includes bottles from the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022 vintages, as well as a five-vintage vertical spanning 2016 to 2022 in their original wooden case. Large formats include a 2020 magnum, the first vintage of 2016 in double magnum along with a 2016 Imperial, with the Imperial offered commercially for the very first time.
Library vintages, large formats and the Grand Vin Blanc, offered for sale for the first time
Beyond the Cabernet Franc lots, the consignment spans seven decades of Château Angelus. Library selections date back to a 1955 magnum and a 1959 bottle, alongside six-bottle cases of the 1983, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1995, 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2005 vintages.
Large formats include double magnums of the 1990, 1995, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003 vintages, a 2003 Jeroboam, a 2012 Imperial and an 18-liter 2015 Melchior. Magnums and double magnums of Carillon d’Angelus complete the offering.
Lot 42 pairs a three-bottle case of Château Angelus Grand Vin Blanc 2020 with a magnum of the 2022 vintage, in original wooden case.
Until now, the Grand Vin Blanc has never been offered for sale, poured only at the château for a small circle of family and friends. October 17 marks its first release of any kind.
This lot also includes an exclusive experience at the estate.
It comprises a private tour of the property, a guided tasting of Château Angelus vintages, and a five-course lunch or dinner with members of the estate and winemaking team, prepared by Chef Thibaut Gamba at Le Logis de la Cadène, the estate’s Michelin-starred restaurant in Saint-Émilion. The experience also includes a one-night stay in a suite at Le Logis de la Cadène, with breakfast.
Eva Longoria is among Château Angelus Blanc’s most enthusiastic admirers, and all proceeds from this lot will benefit the Eva Longoria Foundation, which supports economic opportunity, civic participation and cultural influence for Latinas. “There is a reason the Grand Vin Blanc has almost never left the estate, because I consume it as often as I can get there! Château Angelus has poured it exclusively for close friends and family, and this is the first time it’s ever been offered at auction. Pairing it with a private day at the château: the tour, the tasting, dinner with the winemaking team, a night at Le Logis de la Cadène makes this one of the most special wine experiences you could imagine. In addition, every bit of your generosity goes directly to the work of the Eva Longoria Foundation, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Cheers, and good luck!” says Eva Longoria.
Bidding takes place on October 17, 2026, with a live bidding room at Marea in New York City and the sale conducted from Acker’s Delaware saleroom. Catalog and bidding information are available through Acker at ackerwines.com.
About Angelus
At the heart of Angelus lies an extraordinary vineyard, nestled on the famed pied de côte at the entrance to Saint-Émilion and bathed in southern sunlight.
Since 1782, generations of the de Boüard de Laforest family have nurtured this land with passion and dedication. Today, the estate spans 135 hectares, including 65 hectares in Saint-Émilion, of which 30 hectares form its historic core. Angelus stands among the most prestigious vineyards of its appellation. In 2012, after more than thirty years at the helm, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest passed the torch to his daughter, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, who became the third woman to lead the estate in its nearly 250-year history. Under her stewardship, Angelus continues to honour its legacy while shaping its future. Today, the group employs 130 people, produces eight cuvées and owns Logis de la Cadène, a hotel and restaurant in the heart of Saint-Émilion.
