New website, expanded membership program, and refreshed brand identity mark the next chapter for the family-owned winery
September 15, 2026 (Melba, ID) — Rock Spur, a family-owned winery producing estate-grown wines in Idaho’s Snake River Valley, is introducing a new seated estate tasting experience at its Melba vineyard property, alongside a new website and refreshed wine membership program.

Built around a single 20-acre estate vineyard, Rock Spur is rooted in a multigenerational farming family and a hands-on approach to both farming and winemaking. The new tasting experience gives guests the opportunity to explore the wines where they are grown and learn more about the vineyard, the family behind it, and Rock Spur’s vision for Idaho wine.
The tasting experience is designed to be intimate, seated, and education-focused, with communal seating for 12 guests. Rather than a traditional walk-up bar tasting, guests are hosted by founder and vineyard manager Jenell Kasper, who farms the estate and can speak directly to the vineyard, growing decisions, and wines in the glass. The approximately 90-minute experience includes a selection of estate-grown wines paired with a cheese and charcuterie board, and guests are also invited to walk the vineyard during their visit.
“Our estate vineyard has always been the center of Rock Spur,” said Kasper. “This gives us a chance to share our wines where they begin and help guests understand the connection between the unique soil, the importance of our farming practices, and how those elements contribute to the wine in the glass. The Idaho wine region is growing, and we’re excited to be part of showing what this region and our estate vineyard can do.”
Rock Spur’s estate vineyard sits at approximately 2,440 feet in elevation near Melba. Basalt sands from the volcanic vent at the vineyard’s south end strongly influence the soil, contributing to the wine’s terroir. Kasper and her family developed the commercial vineyard after years in agriculture, initially growing grapes for other wineries before establishing Rock Spur as an estate wine brand. Farming decisions are made block by block to focus on fruit quality and site expression.
As the Snake River Valley continues to grow as a wine destination, Rock Spur stands apart for an estate model centered entirely on fruit from its own vineyard. The new tasting experience gives guests a direct connection to the wines, the vineyard where they begin, and the person who farms it.

The estate tasting launch coincides with a new website at rockspurwines.com, designed to better tell the story of the vineyard, wines, and people behind Rock Spur, while making it easier to reserve a tasting, purchase wine, and become a member. Rock Spur has also updated its wine membership program, offering greater flexibility, year-round benefits, and opportunities to experience the estate. The updated program is designed to create a stronger connection to the winery throughout the year, both at the vineyard and at home.
The updates are part of a broader evolution of the Rock Spur brand, with a refreshed identity that better reflects the quality and ambition of the wines. The Rock Spur name traces back to a former rail spur that once ran alongside the property, while the winery logo draws on traditional cattle brands and the ranching and farming heritage of the surrounding area. Updated packaging will roll out with future releases, including distinct packaging for a new reserve tier.
Working with consulting winemaker Ray McKee, Rock Spur produces estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Malbec, and rosé, with a focus on balance, food-friendly wines, and keeping the character of the vineyard at the forefront.
