Sta. Rita Hills winery joins Napa Valley’s Staglin family and One Mind in demonstrating the power of California’s wine community to come together for mental health
September 8, 2026 (Buellton, CA) — Alma Rosa Winery & Vineyards, a leading producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County’s Sta. Rita Hills AVA, is expanding its longstanding commitment to mental health advocacy with a $100,000 donation to One Mind and a major sponsorship of the 32nd Annual One Mind Music Festival. Presented by Bank of America and Bristol Myers Squibb, the festival takes place Saturday, September 19, at Staglin Family Vineyard in Napa Valley.
The commitment brings together two California wineries from two distinct regions around a cause that has become deeply important to both. Founded by the Staglin family, One Mind has been a longtime beneficiary and supporter of Alma Rosa’s annual Peace of Mind fundraising walk in Santa Barbara County. This year, Alma Rosa, owned by Bob and Barb Zorich, is returning that support in Napa Valley, underscoring a shared belief that meaningful progress in mental health requires collaboration that extends well beyond one’s own community.

The One Mind Music Festival is one of the country’s most established fundraising events dedicated to mental health research and advocacy. Now in its 32nd year, the event brings together leaders in science, advocacy, philanthropy, food, wine and music at Staglin Family Vineyard in Rutherford. The 2026 festival will feature a performance by The Fray, marking the 20th anniversary of the band’s hit “How to Save a Life,” along with a Science & Innovation Symposium, Wine Tasting Reception and VIP Estate Dinner & Dancing. As part of its support, Alma Rosa will present the festival’s wine tasting reception, bringing a taste of the Sta. Rita Hills to Napa Valley and joining more than 70 premier American vintners pouring for festival guests. The winery has also made a $100,000 contribution in support of the event and One Mind’s work to improve mental health outcomes through research, innovation and advocacy.
For Alma Rosa, the partnership is an extension of a commitment that has become central to the winery’s philanthropic mission.
In 2020, Bob and Barb founded Peace of Mind: 10,000 Steps in the Right Direction, an annual 4.5-mile walk through Alma Rosa’s 628-acre El Jabali estate in the Sta. Rita Hills. Created to raise both awareness and funding for mental health, the event benefits One Mind and Santa Barbara’s Mental Wellness Center, connecting leading-edge mental health research with critical services available within Alma Rosa’s own community.
Since its inception, Peace of Mind has raised more than $1.2 million for the two organizations. At the annual walk, participants gather for a hike among the vineyards to support research, treatment, education and services for people and families affected by mental health challenges.
The One Mind Music Festival has become a cornerstone of those efforts. The 2025 festival raised more than $4.1 million, and over its three-decade history has welcomed performers including Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Hudson, OneRepublic and Train.
