Nearly 30 Israeli wineries will gather Sept. 3 for an evening of wine, food and live music in the historic Mount Carmel town
September 1, 2026 (Atlanta, GA) — One of Israel’s most historic wine towns will celebrate its winemaking heritage Thursday, Sept. 3, when the fifth annual Zichron Yaakov Wine Festival brings nearly 30 Israeli wineries together at Gan Tiyul in the heart of the town.
Zichron Yaakov played a foundational role in the development of modern Israeli wine. Founded in 1882, the settlement received the support of Baron Edmond de Rothschild, who helped establish viticulture and a winery there in the 1880s.
“Zichron Yaakov is where the story of Israeli wine comes alive. You can feel that history, meet the people making exceptional wines today, and enjoy an unforgettable evening in one of Israel’s most beautiful wine destinations,” said Lorin Maugery, Consul Director for the Israel Ministry of Tourism, United States Southern Region.
The open-air festival will feature tastings and bottle sales from nearly 30 wineries, including Carmel, Recanati, Dalton, Tura, Shilo, Kishor, Ella Valley and Jezreel Valley. Admission includes a Riedel wine glass and wine tastings, while food vendors will offer a variety of dishes for purchase.
Live entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with a local jazz ensemble led by Assaf Finkel, followed by the Six Band cover ensemble, DJ Efrata and DJ Idan Chen.
The festival runs from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Gan Tiyul, 1 Hanadiv St., Zichron Yaakov. Advance purchase is required.
