Sunny with a Chance of Flowers Builds Florida Momentum With Double-Digit Growth

Zero Sugar “Better-for-You” Wine Brand Builds on Strong Retail Support and Expanded Distribution

August 27, 2026 (Salinas, CA) — Scheid Family Wines is building strong momentum in Florida with Sunny with a Chance of Flowers, the zero sugar, lower-alcohol brand known for bright, flavorful wines that fit today’s balanced lifestyle. Recent IRi/Circana performance highlights show Sunny is delivering double-digit dollar and volume growth in Florida, supported by expanded distribution, strong performance across core varietals, and continued retail support.

According to IRi/Circana Florida Multi Outlet+ with Convenience data for the latest 52 weeks ending August 9, 2026, Sunny grew +14.1% in dollar sales and +16.9% in volume compared to the prior year. Category weighted distribution also increased 12.8 points over the latest 52 weeks, expanding the brand’s availability across the market.

Pinot Noir, the brand’s leading varietal in Florida, is helping drive that momentum, increasing +19.4% in dollar sales and +22.4% in volume over the latest 52 weeks. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, two of Sunny’s other top varietals in the state, are also contributing to the brand’s overall growth. At the same time, expanded availability of Pinot Grigio is creating an additional opportunity, with category weighted distribution increasing 5.9 points over the latest 52 weeks.

Strong retail programming helped Sunny get off to a solid start in the first half of calendar year 2026. Across the broader Southeast, a Harris Teeter Q1 planner program delivered an increase of 41%. In Florida, ongoing support from ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, including its annual January Sunny program, and recurring seasonal programming with Winn-Dixie have also helped build brand visibility and consumer discovery.

That strong first-half foundation has carried into the important summer selling season, with the latest four-week results significantly outpacing Sunny’s already strong annual growth rates, up +15.3% in dollar sales and +21% in volume. The acceleration reinforces the brand’s growing momentum in Florida and the impact of expanded availability and consistent retail support.

“Florida is the Sunshine State and it’s exciting to see that its consumers have really embraced the wines of Sunny with a Chance of Flowers,” said Heidi Scheid, Executive Vice President of Scheid Family Wines. “Strong partnerships with retailers have helped expand availability and introduce more consumers to Sunny, with increased momentum into summer. The combination of zero sugar, lower alcohol and naturally delicious flavor is meeting consumers where they are and giving them a reason to enjoy wine as part of their everyday moments.”
