The Beautiful Earth Cabernet Sauvignon and Beautiful Earth Red from the Paso Robles Winery headline a run of highly accoladed wines from the 2026 and 2025 competitions
August 18, 2026 (Paso Robles, CA) — McPrice Myers Wines, the Adelaida District winery specializing in Rhône-style and estate red wines, has been recognized with top honors across two consecutive Sunset International Wine Competitions, earning Double Gold medals, a Best of Class distinction and scores as high as 98 points, building on a history of success at the competition.

Held annually by Sunset Magazine, the Sunset International Wine Competition attracts producers from across the Western United States. Competition entries are blindly evaluated by a panel of wine professionals including master sommeliers, winemakers, educators, wine buyers and specialized journalists.
“These wines represent everything we set out to do at McPrice Myers Wines, capturing the character of our Paso Robles fruit while staying true to the Rhône varieties we love,” said McPrice “Mac” Myers, founder and winemaker. “To see the Beautiful Earth wines recognized at this level, year after year, tells us we’re on the right track.”
The winery’s recent top 2026 awards include:
2023 Beautiful Earth Cabernet Sauvignon (2026 Sunset International Wine Competition) — 98 points, Double Gold and Best of Class.
2023 Beautiful Earth Red (2026 Sunset International Wine Competition) — 97 points and Double Gold for the winery’s signature red blend.
These awards follow the 2025 top performing wine:
2023 High on the Hog Red Blend (2025 Sunset International Wine Competition) — 98 points, Double Gold and Best of Class; judges called it “very lush and complete, [with a] long finish.”
According to Myers, the 2023 High on the Hog Red Blend represents “a wine you can drink for any occasion – the highest quality at a $20 price point.” This year’s top winners, the 2023 Beautiful Earth Cabernet Sauvignon and Beautiful Earth Red, are part of McPrice Myers’ flagship Beautiful Earth series, first launched in 2005 with a Terra Bella Vineyard Syrah.
“Every year, the Sunset International Wine & Spirits Competition gives us a chance to celebrate the producers who are defining what we drink now—and what we’ll be excited to discover next,” says Hugh Garvey, editor-in-chief at Sunset. “This year’s top winners say a lot about where taste is heading…Sunset is proud to champion the wineries, distilleries, and makers who bring so much innovation, pleasure, and sense of place to the table. We heartily congratulate this year’s winners.”
