Finger Lakes winery earns fourth Winery of the Year honor overall in the 2026 NY Wine Classic
August 17, 2026 (Hammondsport, NY) — Weis Vineyards is thrilled to announce that it has been named 2026 New York State Winery of the Year at the New York Wine Classic marking the winery’s third consecutive win and fourth Winery of the Year title overall.
“We are beyond excited and truly honored to be named New York State Winery of the Year for the fourth time,” said Weis Vineyards owners Hans Peter and Ashlee Weis. “To receive this recognition three years in a row is something we never could have imagined. More than anything, this belongs to our team. Every single person who is part of Weis contributes to who we are, and we could not be more thankful for the amazing group of people we work with.”
The recognition comes following an outstanding showing for Weis Vineyards at the 2026 New York Wine Classic with wines earning one Platinum Medal, 13 Gold Medals and four Best in Category honors.
Leading the pack our 2024 Riesling Ice Wine received 97 points, a Platinum Medal, and Best Dessert Wine
The 2025 Zweigelt Dry Rosé received 95 points and a Gold Medal securing both Best Pink and Best Rosé. The 2024 Winzer Select Riesling A earned 95 points, a Gold Medal and Best Sweet Riesling while the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc received 94 points, a Gold Medal and Best Sauvignon Blanc.
