Arizona winery ties case prices to the desert temperature
August 14, 2026 (Wilcox & Scottsdale, AZ) — Most people complain when Arizona temperatures climb into the triple digits. At Aridus Wine Company, that’s when customers start celebrating.
For the third consecutive summer, the Arizona winery is turning the desert heat into wine savings with one of the state’s most unusual promotions: the price of a case of wine equals the previous day’s high temperature. If yesterday’s high in Phoenix was 99 degrees, a mixed case costs $99. If the mercury tops out at 107, the case is $107.
The promotion runs throughout August and is available to everyone—not just wine club members. Customers simply visit either the winery’s Willcox or Scottsdale tasting room, build a custom 12-bottle case of reds, whites, or a combination, and pay the price set by the previous day’s official high temperature, as reported by AccuWeather at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
“We wanted to embrace what Arizona is famous for instead of hiding from it,” says Aridus founder and owner Scott Dahmer. “People have so much fun checking the forecast and rooting for hotter weather. It’s become a great conversation starter, and it lets more people discover Arizona wine while celebrating our desert identity. Arizona has plenty of triple-digit days. We figured we might as well make them worth celebrating. The hotter it gets, the better the deal—and our customers actually start rooting for 110-degree weather,” he adds.

Aridus produces wine exclusively from its 40-acre estate vineyard near Pearce, Arizona, about 45 minutes from the winery in Willcox. Perched at nearly 5,000 feet in the Chiricahua Foothills, the vineyard combines high-elevation mountain growing with the arid desert climate that gives the winery its name. The estate is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Tempranillo, Graciano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Malvasia.
“Our estate vineyard offers a distinctive combination of mountain elevation and desert conditions that produces wines unlike those from anywhere else,” says Dahmer.
At 28,000 square feet, the Aridus winery is one of Arizona’s largest wine production facilities, equipped with state-of-the-art winemaking technology. Housed in a beautifully restored former apple warehouse, the winery blends historic character with contemporary design, featuring reclaimed local lumber, antique lighting and sweeping mountain views.
