Novel Wines will represent Nicolas-Jay’s portfolio of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from renowned vineyards in the Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity Hills, and Yamhill-Carlton AVAs.

Founded in 2011, Nicolas-Jay was born from a shared vision between the two longtime friends to craft world-class wine by combining the traditions of Burgundy with the terroir of the Willamette Valley. The winery has earned international recognition for their elegant, site-driven wines that reflect both Burgundian sensibility and the distinct character of Oregon.

Novel Wines is a Las Vegas-based boutique wine brokerage company founded in 2020 that has quickly earned a reputation for representing some of the world’s most acclaimed family-owned wine estates. Led by owners Peter Keenan and Mark Wirtala, the company’s small team works closely with Nevada’s leading restaurants, retailers, and wine professionals to bring exceptional, limited-production wines to discerning collectors and consumers.

Novel Wines owner Peter Keenan shared, “Novel Wines takes great pride in representing the best producers from the Willamette Valley and when the opportunity for Nicolas-Jay became available, we jumped! The wines from Nicolas-Jay showcase the exceptional quality we look to bring to the best restaurants and retailers in Las Vegas.”

The partnership represents the next chapter of growth for Nicolas-Jay as the winery continues to expand its presence in key markets while remaining focused on producing limited-production wines from some of Oregon’s most distinctive vineyard sites.

“Peter Keenan and Mark Wirtala are exactly the kind of people that Jean-Nicolas Méo and I trust to develop our community of Nicolas-Jay buyers in Nevada, shared Nicolas Jay Co-Founder Jay Boberg. “They are passionate, entrepreneurial and extremely knowledgeable about fine wine. We have built up a strong following in Las Vegas in particular over the past four years, and we are certain that Peter and Mark and their sales team will add a lot in the months and years to come.”

ABOUT NICOLAS-JAY
Nicolas-Jay is a winery born from the longtime friendship of Jean-Nicolas Méo of the famed Domaine Méo-Camuzet, and visionary music entrepreneur Jay Boberg. Nicolas-Jay’s regional cuvées are a thoughtful collection of premium sustainably farmed vineyards, and the winery has four single vineyard designate bottlings: Bishop Creek, Nysa, Temperance Hill, and Momtazi. Chardonnay was added to Nicolas-Jay’s offerings in 2017, both an estate bottling and a regional cuvée, Affinités. With the 2021 vintage, a new single vineyard designate from Spirit Hill Vineyard joined the collection of fine Willamette Valley Chardonnay from the winery. In 2019, Méo and Boberg purchased a 53-acre site in the Dundee Hills AVA, a location with some of the deepest Jory soils in the region, and began converting the existing barn to a winery and tasting room. Nicolas-Jay planted its first vines on the estate vineyard and launched the new tasting room in 2021. Nicolas-Jay wines are distributed nationally and available in overseas markets like Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. For more information, please visit nicolas-jay.com.
