July 20, 2026 — Tior, the boutique label within the Hinman family of wines, just took home top honors at the 2026 Sunset International Wine Competition. Evaluated by a panel of winemakers, educators and journalists, this recognition solidifies Tior’s reputation for producing premier, quintessentially Oregon wines within Hinman Vineyard’s historic 50-year legacy of winemaking.
“We created Tior to explore a distinct, modern expression of the Willamette Valley,” said owner Chelsea Hinman Miller. “To have our passion and dedication recognized on such a prestigious national stage by the Sunset International judges is incredibly validating. As a relatively new brand within the historic Hinman portfolio, this honor is deeply meaningful to me. It directly reflects my dad’s infectious passion for wine, which is what first inspired my own journey.”
The Sunset International Wine Competition, one of the most respected wine evaluation platforms in the country, recognized Tior’s approachable, fruit-forward style and high-quality crafting with top awards:
Tior 2024 Reserve Pinot Noir — Gold Medal: This red captures the essence of Oregon Pinot Noir, offering a bright acidity balanced by layers of ripe red cherry, earth and subtle baking spice.
Tior Pinot Gris — Gold Medal: Celebrated for its crisp, refreshing profile, this expression features vibrant aromas of green apple, white peach and wet stone, leading to a clean, lingering finish.
Hinman Vineyards is located at 27012 Briggs Hill Road, Eugene, Ore. 97405. For more information on Tior’s award-winning wines or to schedule a tasting, please visit tiorwines.com or call the tasting room at 541.345.1945.
