Fruit Juice and Grape Wine Combine for a Delicious Ready-to-Freeze Treat
July 20, 2026 (Ukiah, CA) — Terragena Wine launches their newest product, Terra Pop, as temperatures continue to rise and national wine and grape sales flounder, showcasing ingenuity in the face of challenge.
Terra Pops are single-serving grape wine ice pops that come ready-to-freeze, making them shelf-stable like any other bottle of wine. They are glass-free and portable, and currently come in four flavors: Cherry Pinot Noir, Blackberry Barbera, Peach Cuveé Blanc, and Moscato, with more coming later this summer. The numbers don’t lie. Current buying trends show that ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, as well as low-alcohol options, are on the rise. And, with grape sales low and larger producers clearing vineyards, the smaller producers are poised to pivot in real-time. Terragena’s answer: popsicles! Because not everyone has space in their freezer or time for DIY.
“These wine popsicles are fruity but not too fruity, and play to the nostalgia of anyone who spent hot summer days cooling off with Otter Pops,” says winemaker and founder Chris Buchanan. “The wine market is tough these days, especially for small businesses like ours. So, while we do create award-winning pinot noirs and more, we are excited about this unique product that captures the moment and provides a value-added answer to the excess grapes and juice currently on the market.”
Terragena soft-launched the product with TTB-approved formula and labeling for a wine specialty product by donating Terra Pops to Mendocino Winegrowers Inc., and Good Farm Fund for events in early September of 2025. Since then, the husband and wife team at Terragena have been fine-tuning the recipes and packaging to share this past June at Inland Mendocino’s newest festival: Bacchanal Mendocino and more!
