June 20, 2026 (Rolling Hills, CA) — Castle Rock Winery is pleased to announce that its 2023 Lodi Zinfandel has been featured in Wine Spectator‘s latest “Zinfandel Abundance: California Tasting Report,” which reviewed nearly 200 California Zinfandels from the exceptional 2023 and 2024 vintages.
The recognition follows another recent accolade for the wine, which earned 90 points from internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling, further validating the outstanding quality and value of Castle Rock Winery’s 2023 Lodi Zinfandel.
The Castle Rock 2023 Lodi Zinfandel earned 88 points from Wine Spectator and was recognized as one of California’s outstanding wine values at just $12, with the publication describing the wine as “juicy and fruit-forward, with easygoing notes of cherry and pepper.”
In its report, Wine Spectator noted that despite challenging market conditions, California continues to produce outstanding Zinfandels across a wide range of styles and price points. Castle Rock Winery was included alongside many of the state’s most respected Zinfandel producers, underscoring the winery’s long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional quality at an affordable price.
