Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology Announces Nationwide Search for Next Executive Director

July 16, 2026 (Palisade, CO) — The Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE) has officially launched a nationwide search for its next Executive Director, seeking an experienced and visionary leader to guide Colorado’s wine industry into its next chapter.

As the only statewide nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to advancing Colorado’s grape growers, wineries, and allied industry partners, CAVE is looking for an individual with a passion for nonprofit leadership, agriculture, tourism, economic development, and collaborative partnerships.

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the organization, providing strategic leadership while overseeing advocacy, education, marketing, membership engagement, fundraising, financial management, signature events, and industry partnerships.

“CAVE has never been stronger, and we are excited to begin the search for our next Executive Director,” said Board President Kevin Webber. “This is a unique opportunity to lead a respected statewide organization and help shape the future of Colorado’s wine industry. We are looking for a collaborative, innovative leader who can build upon our strong foundation while guiding the organization through its next phase of growth.”

The position becomes available as current Executive Director Cassidee Shull announced that she will conclude her nearly fifteen years of service with the organization on October 31, 2026. Shull will continue serving through the transition to ensure continuity of leadership and support the successful onboarding of CAVE’s next Executive Director.

The Board of Directors has appointed a search committee to oversee the recruitment process and evaluate candidates from across the country. The committee is seeking a dynamic leader with demonstrated experience in nonprofit management, strategic planning, fundraising, organizational leadership, and relationship building. Experience in agriculture, tourism, economic development, membership organizations, or the wine industry is preferred.

The Executive Director will lead CAVE’s statewide initiatives, including industry education, legislative advocacy, marketing and tourism promotion, member services, research partnerships, and the organization’s nationally recognized programs and events, including VinCO and Colorado Mountain Winefest.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a cover letter and résumé through the application process outlined in the job posting. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
