The Unmatched Elegance of Rosé: RosaMara Enters the International Wine Colour Map

Costaripa becomes a leading reference in the new language of rosé wine: from scientific rigour to aesthetic vision, Florence de La Rivière’s work redefines the role and value of wine colour. Costaripa is the global benchmark for the “Powder Pink” colour category

July 14, 2026 — Rosé wine is experiencing a new era of awareness, where colour is no longer merely an aesthetic element, but becomes a key to interpretation, a language and an identity.

In this context comes the recent work of designer and researcher Florence de La Rivière, whose book The “Look of Wine – Reading Wine Color” presents, for the first time, a scientific classification of the colour nuances found in wine.

A seven-year project developed across research centres and some of Europe’s most emblematic wine-growing regions, introducing six colour families — from Powder Pink to Onion Skin — identified through spectrophotometric analysis and rigorous visual assessment.

Within this international colour map, RosaMara stands out as a unique reference for the Powder Pink colour category, alongside two prominent French wineries. This presence is more than a simple mention: it is recognition of a precise style, capable of translating terroir into a distinctive chromatic signature. In the book, RosaMara is described as a rosé with a luminous and refined hue, characterised by subtle and complex reflections, perceptible only through careful observation. A colour born from meticulous craftsmanship: twenty-eight different vineyards, constant selection processes, and an in-depth study of the raw material.

“Colour is not merely a detail. When considered within the entire production process, both in the vineyard and in the winery, it can help identify a wine’s origin. It is the wine’s first narrative, preceding both aroma and taste,” says Mattia Vezzola. “Being identified within a scientific classification such as the Powder Pink category means seeing recognised a commitment that began in 1928, built on study, precision and respect for the land. It is our responsibility to preserve and protect the historic identity of Valtènesi rosé, one of the world’s two most important rosé-producing regions.”

Florence de La Rivière’s approach, enriched by Jérôme Beryon’s imagery and supported by a rigorous analytical framework, contributes to redefining the parameters through which wine is understood, combining traditional sensory analysis with a visual and cultural dimension that is finally being fully explored.

Within this context, Costaripa’s role emerges clearly: not only as an interpreter of a distinctive style, but as a benchmark capable of representing around the world a vision of rosé that combines elegance, balance and depth.
