June 30, 2026 (Chelan, WA) — One of Washington’s most iconic wine destinations, Tsillan Cellars, has been purchased by a group of like‑minded local investors committed to carrying forward the legacy created by founder Dr. Bob Jankelson. For more than 25 years, Tsillan Cellars has been celebrated for its world‑class wines, award‑winning hospitality, and its role as a cornerstone of the Lake Chelan wine community. The new ownership group is led by Ronan and Gillian Walsh, full‑time Manson residents deeply rooted in the valley.
Honoring a Legacy
Dr. Bob Jankelson built Tsillan Cellars into one of the most beloved wine destinations in the Pacific Northwest. His vision, passion, and leadership shaped the winery’s reputation for excellence.
“It was my vision 25 years ago to create a truly exceptional wine destination on the South Shore of Lake Chelan,” said Dr. Bob Jankelson, founder of Tsillan Cellars. “Over the years, my team and I created a reputation for outstanding wine and food hospitality, and when I was introduced to Ronan and Gillian, I knew Tsillan would continue to thrive in their good hands. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful support of the community, staff, and loyal guests that made the vision a reality. Thank you.”
Dr. Bob will remain a cherished presence at Tsillan Cellars as an ambassador, continuing his close relationship with the team, the wine club, and the broader community. His legacy is not ending — it is the foundation on which the next chapter is being built.
Rooted Local Ownership
Ronan and Gillian Walsh, originally from Ireland, moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2000 and have been proud full‑time residents of Manson since 2020. Ronan serves as a commissioner and volunteer firefighter with the Manson Fire Department and coaches track at Manson High School. Gillian runs communications for the Manson Fire Department and has worked in local wine tasting rooms. Their children attend Manson High School, and the family is deeply woven into the fabric of the valley.
“This valley became home for us,” said Ronan Walsh. “Tsillan Cellars is one of the most beloved wine destinations in the Pacific Northwest, and it is right here in the community where Gillian and I are raising our family. We are not coming in to change what Dr. Bob built. We are here to honor it, invest in it, and steward this land and this winery for generations to come.”
The Walshes are joined by a group of local investors who share their commitment to the valley and to the long‑term stewardship of what Dr. Bob built.
Commitment to Excellence
Guests, wine club members, and the broader community can expect continuity in all aspects of the Tsillan Cellars experience. The winemaking team, tasting room, restaurant, events, and wine club remain unchanged. The commitment to exceptional wine and hospitality is not a transition‑period promise — it is the reason the new ownership group chose Tsillan Cellars.

The transaction, effective June 30, 2026, includes the Tsillan Cellars estate and winery operations in Lake Chelan, Sorrento’s Restaurant, and the Woodinville tasting room. Terms were not disclosed.
