June 16, 2026 — Shannon Family of Wines is pleased to announce a significant leadership transition within its sales organization. Following the retirement of longtime wine industry veteran Gary Bodine after an extraordinary 41-year career in the beverage business, the company has welcomed Henry Politz as Director of Sales Western Division.
This transition reflects Shannon Family of Wines’ continued commitment to building on a strong foundation of industry expertise while positioning the company for future growth and success.
Gary’s career has been defined by leadership, integrity, mentorship, and an unwavering commitment to excellence across every role he has held. He began his career with Constellation Brands, where he advanced from Houston Market Representative to District Manager overseeing Virginia and the Carolinas before returning to Texas as District Manager. He later served as a National Account Executive for Coca-Cola USA and continued his leadership journey with Banfi/Excelsior as Regional Manager Northwest and Regional Director Central.
At Shannon Family of Wines, Gary brought his passion and experience to the roles of Regional Manager South and ultimately Director of Sales for the West Division. Throughout his tenure, Gary has been a trusted leader, valued partner, and respected friend to so many across our organization and throughout the industry.

As Gary begins this next chapter, Shannon Family of Wines is pleased to welcome Henry Politz into the role of Director of Sales Western Division. Henry joins the company with more than three decades of wine sales and leadership experience and a distinguished track record of building brands and leading high-performing teams.
Henry began his wine career with E&J Gallo Winery and went on to hold increasingly senior leadership positions, including Area Manager for The Wine Group, Region Manager for Banfi Vintners, National Sales Director for Scheid Family Wines, and Vice President of Sales for Resurrection Brands.
“Henry brings tremendous experience, energy, and leadership to Shannon Family of Wines,” said Dewan. “His deep industry knowledge and passion for the business make him an outstanding fit for our team and our continued growth.”
Both Gary and Henry are based in Dallas and worked closely during a transition period to ensure continuity and a seamless handoff of responsibilities.
