Farra di Soligo (Treviso), June 15 2026 – In an ever-evolving sparkling wine landscape, Italian bubbles, and Prosecco in particular, are increasingly moving toward drier, more vertical styles, where the authentic character of the Glera grape can fully emerge. Freshness, aromatic clarity, and tension are becoming defining elements of a new Prosecco identity, capable of speaking to a more discerning and contemporary market.
It is within this context that Andreola presents 26° I° Rive di Col San Martino Extra Brut, a Valdobbiadene DOCG that embodies both the evolution of taste and the deep-rooted philosophy of the winery.
Founded in 1984 by Nazzareno Pola, Andreola has always been guided by a clear vision: to enhance the richness and biodiversity of the Valdobbiadene hills. Today, under the leadership of Stefano Pola and with the expertise of oenologist Mirco Balliana, the winery continues to explore the denomination with a refined, parcel-driven approach, capable of capturing the many nuances of this complex territory.
With over 110 hectares of estate vineyards divided into approximately 250 plots, Andreola preserves an extraordinary mosaic of terroirs. This fragmentation is not a limitation, but a strategic asset: a way to interpret the denomination through precision viticulture and to highlight the individuality of each site.
The concept of “Rive”, introduced into the Valdobbiadene DOCG regulations in 2009 to identify wines from single steep hillside vineyards, represents the highest expression of this philosophy. In its Extra Brut version, the category finds a particularly contemporary interpretation: dry, essential, and focused, capable of emphasizing the varietal purity of Glera and the geological complexity of the soils.
The Rive di Col San Martino area holds special significance for Andreola. It is here, on steep slopes between 300 and 500 meters above sea level, that the winery’s story began and where this wine originates. These vineyards, some of which are over a century old, are rooted in calcareous conglomerate soils of Dolomitic origin, shaped by altitude, strong temperature variations, and limited water availability, conditions that define what is often referred to as “heroic viticulture.”
This environment generates wines with a distinct identity, where precision and elegance are the result of both natural conditions and meticulous human intervention. The Extra Brut style, with zero residual sugar, enhances this expression further, aligning perfectly with current international trends that favor purity, drinkability, and gastronomic versatility.
More than a single cuvée, 26° I° is also a symbolic wine. Its name marks the generational transition from founder Nazzareno Pola to his son Stefano in the 26th year of the winery, coinciding with the establishment of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG denomination. It represents continuity, evolution, and a renewed commitment to expressing the territory with authenticity and precision.
Today, as global markets increasingly reward wines with a strong sense of place and a clearer stylistic identity, Andreola positions itself at the forefront of this shift, offering a Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene DOCG that goes beyond its traditional image, more structured, more terroir-driven, and unmistakably linked to its origin.
With 26° I° Rive di Col San Martino Extra Brut, Andreola reaffirms its role as an interpreter of Valdobbiadene’s most distinctive landscapes and as a producer capable of combining heritage, innovation and a forward-looking vision of Italian sparkling wine.
About Andreola Winery
Located in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, with 110 hectares of vineyards, 900,000 bottles sold in over 35 countries and over 40 years of history, Andreola has become a symbol of heroic viticulture in Valdobbiadene DOCG, producing wines that are literally “handmade,” reflecting a constant commitment to quality-driven research.
The winery stands out for its manual work in the vineyards, an essential practice on the steep hillsides of this region, where the harvest is marked by the presence of unique pulley systems used to transport the grapes. Andreola’s production focuses primarily on the Glera grape variety, alongside a small percentage of native vines found in older vineyards and includes a range of labels, among them the Rive Line, featuring the largest number of Rive in the Valdobbiadene DOCG category.
