Trailblazing wine industry leader and first woman elected to the role, Patricia Ortiz will continue advancing the global competitiveness and recognition of Argentine wine

June 11, 2026 (Fort Worth, TX) — Vino del Sol, importer of Tapiz, Wapisa, and Zolo wines, is proud to announce that Bodegas de Argentina, the organization representing Argentina’s wine industry, has elected Patricia Ortiz as President for a third term. Her appointment marks the return of one of the country’s most respected wine leaders to the association’s top position.Ortiz made history in 2019 when she became the first woman elected President of Bodegas de Argentina. Owner of Tapiz, Zolo, and Wapisa wineries, she oversees vineyard holdings across Mendoza, Salta, and Patagonia. Since entering the wine industry in the early 1990s, Ortiz has become one of Argentina’s most influential figures and a leading advocate for sustainability, inclusion, and social responsibility.
In addition to her leadership role at Bodegas de Argentina, Ortiz serves on the Board of Directors of Wines of Argentina, helping promote Argentine wine and its diverse regions to audiences worldwide. “It is an honor to serve as President of Bodegas de Argentina at such a pivotal moment for our industry,” said Ortiz. “My commitment is to strengthen the competitiveness, unity, and global presence of Argentine wine while supporting innovation and opportunities for wineries of every size across the country.” As President, Ortiz will continue working with wineries across Argentina to advance initiatives focused on sustainability, wine tourism, market development, innovation, and industry collaboration while helping producers navigate evolving global market conditions and consumer trends.
