June 8, 2026 (St. Helena, CA) — Renee and Dustin Mowe of the eponymously named fine wine house MOWE have acquired a portion of the AIDA Vineyard from Vineyard 29. The 10.5-acre section will retain the AIDA name and is comprised primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc completing its identity. Originally planted over a century ago, AIDA gained prominence over decades of careful stewardship under producers like Vineyard 29.

Legendary vigneron David Abreu replanted AIDA after it was acquired by Vineyard 29 in 2000, and from that point onward, AIDA gained prominence on the global stage as a benchmark site of character and distinction. Wine critic Robert Parker once stated…”on the valley floor, with an almost Châteauneuf du Pape layer of small stones, is the Aida Estate, one of my favorite vineyards just north of St. Helena.”
Located between the Vaca and Mayacamas mountain ranges of Napa Valley, AIDA unfolds eastward from the valley’s Highway 29 to the Napa River, draped as it is over modest hillsides and knolls. The soils of AIDA are constant throughout, with bouldery, alluvial fan sediments, gravel and sand composing its underland.
“MOWE has always been deeply personal for Renee and I,” says Dustin Mowe. “It began with a small estate vineyard, modest means, and a dream that had lived quietly in our hearts for over 20 years. What has happened since has been beyond anything we could have anticipated, and we remain profoundly grateful. We view AIDA as one of the top vineyard sites in Napa Valley, and acquiring it feels preordained—a true privilege for us. With it now under our care, the path toward our long-term vision has never been clearer: to build an estate-driven house with long-term legitimacy, producing wines of beauty and soul. And as MOWE has taken off, something even more meaningful has started to happen: our children have begun to see themselves involved.”
Co-founder Renee Mowe adds, “When Dustin and I follow our hearts, it always leads us in the right direction. This time it led us to AIDA. Every decision we have made has been grounded in our shared dream of putting down real roots in this valley we love so much, while creating a lasting legacy for our children, who were born and raised here. Acquiring AIDA feels like another one of our wildest dreams coming true, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to steward such a special property into its next chapter.”
Founded in 2022 by Renee and Dustin Mowe, MOWE released its first wine in 2024. For over two decades, Dustin has been President and CEO of Portocork, a leading producer of high-quality cork, while Renee has supported their family by managing their household with care, empathy and strength. Today, Renee oversees daily operations at MOWE, whose current production includes fruit from their St. Helena Estate Vineyard; a small vineyard in Coombsville under a long-term agreement that sustains their Sauvignon Blanc program; and now AIDA, the house’s second estate entirely under their ownership.
