May 28, 2026 (Rolling Hills, CA) — South Bay Wine Group proudly announced today that its 2024 Dressage Pinot Noir, Monterey County received an outstanding 91-Point rating from The Tasting Panel magazine, further building momentum for the rapidly growing Dressage wine brand.
Retailing for approximately $14, the 2024 Dressage Pinot Noir was praised for both its complexity and value by The Tasting Panel reviewer Meridith May, who described the wine as:
“There’s a savory aspect to this wine that’s quite disarming, evoking beets, black pepper, and even an umami hint of umeboshi while remaining in sync with the fruit: cranberry on the nose and entry, strawberry on the midpalate. A dash of Chinese five spice completes the appealing picture.”
The 91-point review highlights Dressage Wines’ continued commitment to producing premium-quality California wines at accessible price points.
The recognition follows additional recent momentum for the Dressage brand at the 2026 International Women’s Wine Competition, where the 2024 Dressage Pinot Noir, Monterey County earned a Gold Medal and 90 Points.
In addition to the Dressage recognition, two other wines produced by South Bay Wine Group also earned top honors at the competition:
- 2024 Kosmic Kitty Chardonnay — Best of Class
- 2024 Castle Rock Pinot Noir — Gold Medal, 90 Points
The International Women’s Wine Competition is considered one of the wine industry’s most unique and respected events, featuring judging panels composed entirely of women wine professionals, including winemakers, sommeliers, educators, retailers, journalists, and industry experts.
Originally inspired by the elegance, discipline, and artistry of the equestrian dressage world, Dressage Wines combines sophisticated packaging with approachable, food-friendly wines crafted for modern consumers.
The Dressage brand was heavily influenced by Adriana Popovich’s lifelong passion for horses and dressage, along with her close friendship with U.S. Olympic Dressage rider Sabine Schut-Kery. Adriana played a major role in helping shape the identity, image, and lifestyle positioning of the Dressage label.
“Dressage is about elegance, connection, balance, and beauty,” said Adriana Popovich, Director of Social Media for South Bay Wine Group. “We wanted the wines to reflect the same grace and authenticity that make the equestrian world so special.”
Sabine Schut-Kery, who represented Team USA in international competition and helped earn a Silver Medal for the United States Dressage Team at the Tokyo Olympics, has also served as a brand ambassador and supporter of the Dressage Wines concept.
“We created Dressage to reflect elegance, sophistication, and authenticity — both in the bottle and in the lifestyle surrounding the brand,” said Greg Popovich, Founder and President of South Bay Wine Group. “Receiving a 91-point review from The Tasting Panel at this price point is extremely rewarding and reinforces what we believe consumers are looking for today: exceptional wines that overdeliver for the money.”
Produced in Santa Rosa, California by the team behind Castle Rock Winery, Dressage Wines currently features Monterey County Pinot Noir and Chardonnay offerings designed to deliver premium quality and exceptional value for today’s wine consumers.
