A Distinctly Argentine Expression of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, Where Limestone Soils and Mountain Conditions Drive Freshness, Structure, and Purity

May 12, 2026 (New York, NY) — Argentine producer Luigi Bosca introduces two new wines from their Legacy Collection, Filos Chardonnay and León Cabernet Sauvignon, to the U.S., reinforcing the continued evolution of Argentina’s fine wine category beyond its globally recognized flagship, Malbec.
The launch follows a recognition as one of the best new world wineries of the year with Luigi Bosca’s role in shaping the global perception of Argentine wine.
“With León, we wanted to honor our history while expressing a Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks to today’s palate, structured, precise, and deeply connected to its origin,” says Pablo Cúneo, Head Winemaker at Luigi Bosca. “Filos represents our pursuit of purity and precision in Chardonnay, capturing the tension, freshness, and minerality that high-altitude terroirs like Gualtallary can deliver.”

Filos Chardonnay
Filos Chardonnay 2024 is sourced from vineyards in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, primarily Gualtallary (70%) and El Peral (30%), two sites defined by their high-elevation (3,610 ft), southeastern exposure and calcium carbonate-rich soils. These environments enhance concentration while preserving freshness and tension.
Sustainably grown grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in 500-liter French oak casks and barrels, followed by eight months of aging on the lees in oak, without malolactic fermentation. The resulting Chardonnay shows citrus peel and white peach notes with subtle hints of toasted hazelnut and brioche, supported by bright acidity, mineral character and a saline finish.
León Cabernet Sauvignon

León Cabernet Sauvignon honors Luigi Bosca founder Leoncio Arizu, who recognized the potential of Cabernet Sauvignon in Mendoza, a vision later advanced by his great-grandson, Alberto Arizu. Through his travels and exchanges with international wine leaders, including Robert Mondavi, Alberto helped shape a more refined, world-class approach to the variety, inspired by the great Cabernets of Napa Valley and Bordeaux.
León Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 reflects this legacy, blending 91% Cabernet Sauvignon with 9% Cabernet Franc, sourced from sustainably grown grapes from Gualtallary in the Uco Valley and Vistalba (Finca Los Nobles) in Luján de Cuyo. Limestone-influenced soils meet classic alluvial profiles, delivering a wine of tension, structure, and depth, shaped by high-altitude conditions (3,937 feet) with marked diurnal shifts.
Hand-harvested, the grapes are fermented in small oak vats and aged 12–14 months in French oak. It reveals blackberry, cassis, and blueberry layered with black pepper, rosemary, cedar, and toast, leading to fine tannins, a smooth texture, mineral precision, and a long, structured finish.
The wines are now available in the United States through Opici Wines & Spirits, the national importer for Luigi Bosca.
