Vinitaly 2026: Consorzio Barbera d’Asti Strengthens Its Leading Role in Shaping a Shared Strategy Between Territory and Global Markets

April 22, 2026 (Costigliole d’Asti, Italy) — The participation of Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato at Vinitaly 2026 comes to a close with a positive outcome, an edition that has further consolidated the role of the appellation as a point of reference within the Piedmontese and national wine landscape.

“Vinitaly once again proves to be a strategic moment for dialogue and long term vision, all the more important in a prolonged phase of uncertainty across international markets,” comments Filippo Mobrici, President of the Consorzio. “As a Consorzio, the most representative in Piedmont in terms of protected vineyard area, we feel a responsibility to guide producers in exploring new markets and commercial platforms, while maintaining a solid strategic outlook. The opportunities now opening up in India and the Mercosur countries, as well as the still untapped potential of Brazil—a market of around 500 million people with a strong presence of communities of Italian origin—require vision, investment and coordinated action. It is essential that institutions stand alongside the Consorzio and the wineries in building a lasting presence in emerging markets.”

Over the course of the fair, the Consorzio strengthened its role within the territory by enhancing the link between wine, local communities and wine tourism, while presenting the richness of the protected appellations in a unified and cohesive way. In this context, the “Sinfonia Barbera” project represented a tangible example of collaboration between territories and institutions, aimed at a coordinated promotion of the appellation.

“The ‘Sinfonia Barbera’ events demonstrate how a territory can work as a system and speak with a single voice,” the President continues. “Promoted together with six municipalities, the project connects a network of events and initiatives dedicated to Barbera d’Asti, helping to strengthen its appeal and positioning, also from a wine tourism perspective. 2026 is also a symbolic year for the Consorzio, which celebrates its eightieth anniversary. We see this milestone as a foundation on which to face future challenges with renewed vision and planning.”

Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato thus reaffirms its commitment to supporting shared growth, capable of bringing together territory, businesses and institutions within a common vision oriented towards international markets.
