A New Sparkling Rosé from Leading Rosé Producer Gérard Bertrand Bursts with Mediterranean Art de Vivre & An Invitation to Celebrate Life’s Everyday Magic

April 16, 2026 (Narbonne, France) — Acclaimed South of France winegrower Gérard Bertrand unveils Esprit de Cote des Roses (Vin de France, 12% ABV, 750ml, $22.99 SRP), a refined sparkling rosé designed to bring a sense of celebration to everyday moments. Rooted in Mediterranean art de vivre and presented in a distinctive sculpted bottle, this new cuvée marks a clear and deliberate extension of the Cote des Roses universe.
Crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Grenache Noir, Esprit de Cote des Roses expresses freshness, balance, and aromatic finesse. The vineyards, influenced by sea breezes, altitude, and the generous southern sun, yield base wines that preserve natural acidity while offering roundness and depth. The wine opens with elegant notes of fresh red berries and subtle white florals. On the palate, fine, lively bubbles carry a creamy mousse, revealing a harmonious balance between vibrancy and softness, and finishing with a delicate, lightly textured elegance.
Designed for the moments of everyday life that matter, Esprit de Cote des Roses accompanies spontaneous gatherings, elegant aperitifs, relaxed brunches, and joyful celebrations. Its luminous pale pink color and refined effervescence invite sharing and conviviality, offering a sparkling rosé that feels both chic and effortless—whether the moment is planned or beautifully spontaneous.
Precision Beyond the Bubbles
Esprit de Cote des Roses is the result of a distinctive, tasting-driven winemaking approach. Blending begins with the still base wines and continues after the second fermentation, once effervescence has been achieved. This allows the team to fine-tune balance and aromatic precision at the final stage. Select reserve wines, including components aged under wood, may be incorporated with restraint to add depth and coherence. This rare approach in the sparkling rosé category ensures consistency, clarity, and an expressive yet approachable profile.
An Iconic Bottle, Created for Sparkling
The bottle of Esprit de Cote des Roses has been designed exclusively for this cuvée, under the artistic direction of Emma Bertrand. The emblematic rose—synonymous with Cote des Roses—is embossed directly into the glass, with finely sculpted details extending to the base. Light plays across the relief, creating a tactile and visual signature that instantly signals celebration. More than packaging, the bottle is an object of emotion—made to be displayed, gifted, and remembered—clearly differentiating the sparkling expression from the still wines of the range.
“With Esprit de Cote des Roses, we seek to continue the Cote des Roses mission to make every day more magical. Its vibrant bubbles, elegant bottle, and luminous color are certain to lift emotions, spark creativity and inspire togetherness.”— Emma Bertrand, Creative Director, Cote des Roses
A Natural Evolution of a Global Brand
Since its launch in 2013, Cote des Roses has built a lasting relationship with consumers and retailers worldwide, becoming a reference for approachable luxury and strong visual identity. Esprit de Cote des Roses extends this success into the sparkling rosé segment, reinforcing the brand’s ability to combine aesthetic storytelling, consistency of quality, and everyday pleasure. In parallel, the still wines of Cote des Roses continue to evolve with lighter, more elegant bottles—maintaining their iconic codes while clearly affirming the distinction between still and sparkling.
Esprit de Cote des Roses will roll out internationally beginning Spring 2026. The ambition is to establish Esprit de Cote des Roses as a lasting signature in the sparkling rosé category—an elegant, accessible expression of effervescence for everyday enjoyment.

About Cote des Roses
Crafted in the South of France by winegrower Gérard Bertrand, Cote des Roses is inspired by a singular Mediterranean landscape. Between sea, garrigue, and vineyards, at the foot of the La Clape massif, Cote des Roses stretches from Saint-Pierre-la-Mer to Gruissan, via Narbonne-Plage. Rock, vine, wind, and the intense blue of the sky shape this delicate sandy coastline, where long ribbons of subtly hued beaches meet pine forests, reeds, and gentle hillsides. Cote des Roses carries in its name the light of its sunrises, the color of its flamingos, and all the promises of the Mediterranean.
In 2010, Mélitine Courvoisier, then a student at the École Boulle, was revealed through the first edition of the “Créer la Différence” design competition organized by Verallia France. Her project—playfully titled “Soirée A Rosé”—featured a bottle with a rose-shaped base. “Wine is most often offered to a man, flowers to a woman. I connected the two, turned the bottle upside down, and the idea was born,” she explained. At the time, Gérard Bertrand was developing the Cote des Roses wine and, as a jury member, discovered her design. The rest followed naturally: Cote des Roses had found its vessel. Gérard Bertrand enabled Mélitine Courvoisier to bring her design to life, and Verallia transformed it into a commercial bottle and ensured its production.
