Saffirio at Vinitaly 2026 Unveils the New Face of Its Sparkling Wines, Rooted in Langa Identity and Sustainability

April 10, 2026 (Italy) — The Saffirio winery, a historic winemaking estate based in Monforte d’Alba at the heart of the Langhe, will be present at Vinitaly 2026 (Hall 10, Stand E3) to present its journey combining territorial roots, sustainability and a contemporary vision of wine.

During the Verona fair, the spotlight will be on the iconic wines of Josetta Saffirio, expressions of the winery’s most authentic identity and of the Langhe territory, alongside the range of traditional method sparkling wines, which will make their debut with a newly redesigned label. This rebranding marks a further step in the winery’s stylistic evolution and international positioning.

Founded in the 1970s and today led by Sara Vezza, the fifth generation of the family, Saffirio represents a winery that has evolved over time while maintaining a strong bond with its territory. This vision is shared with Brave Wine, the holding company founded by Renzo Rosso and now a strategic partner of the winery, which has contributed to the development of an entrepreneurial project built on quality, identity and sustainability.

Sustainability is one of the winery’s defining features. Saffirio is today the estate in the Barolo area with the highest proportion of woodland in relation to vineyard area: of the 36 hectares overall, as many as 16 are dedicated to woodland and permanent grassland. This choice stems from a clear intention to restore a natural balance between vineyards and biodiversity.

The integration of woodland into the viticultural landscape is not merely an aesthetic element, but a true agricultural strategy that supports biodiversity, encourages the presence of pollinating insects and enhances soil fertility. Alongside these practices, the winery has also introduced photovoltaic systems and environmental protection initiatives, earning the Biodiversity Friend certification, which assesses the impact of agricultural activities on natural ecosystems.

At Vinitaly, Saffirio will also unveil the new look of its traditional method sparkling wines, including Alta Langa DOCG and Nebbiolo d’Alba Spumante Brut Rosé. These wines are the result of a long process of experimentation and come from high altitude vineyards, such as the Murazzano site at around 700 metres above sea level, dedicated to the cultivation of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay for the production of elegant and complex sparkling wines.

The new sparkling wine labels continue the aesthetic and identity driven path already launched with the Orchidea Line, inspired by the wild orchid of the Langhe, a symbol of the biodiversity that defines both the landscape and the winery’s production approach. A visual element that conveys Saffirio’s philosophy: producing wines that are deeply connected to their territory, respecting natural balances and looking to the future with a contemporary spirit.

Vinitaly will therefore provide an opportunity to discover up close the new chapter of Saffirio: a winery that continues to evolve while enhancing the heritage of the Langhe and promoting a production model in which wine, nature and sustainability grow in balance.
