Wine Spectator Unveils 2025 ‘Wine Value of the Year’

Top 10 Wine Values List at WineSpectator.com, Now in Its Fifth Year

January 9, 2026 (New York, NY)Wine Spectator, the world’s leading authority on wine, today unveiled its Top 10 Wine Values of 2025, with Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva 2021 taking top honors as the Wine Value of the Year. From the best-known wine region in Spain, this flagship bottling from Bodegas Muga was produced in a quantity of 80,000 cases, costs $39 and scored 92 points in blind tasting by Wine Spectator.

Marking its fifth year, this list spotlights the best-priced wines of 2025, featuring bottles that are rated 90 points or higher on Wine Spectator’s 100-point scale, cost $40 or less and are made in large enough quantities to be widely available. 

“Producers around the world are making a range of high-quality wines at affordable prices. That’s why, for the fifth year in a row, we’ve enlisted our team of editors to select the top values of the past 12 months,” said Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher, Wine Spectator. “From Rioja and Piedmont to Oregon’s Willamette Valley and California’s Central Coast, the wines on this list showcase top-tier winegrowing regions at their most wallet-friendly, proving that great wine does not have to come at a premium.”
