January 8, 2026 (Stockholm, Sweden) — Often referred to as the Michelin guide of the wine world, Star Wine List has today announced sommelier and wine consultant Jérôme Boullier as its new ambassador for the Loire and Brittany. He begins his role by launching the publication’s first comprehensive Loire guide, with the addition of 20 new Red Stars to this international restaurant and bar guide.
Star Wine List is a guide to the world’s best bars and restaurants – based on their wine offerings – which covers more than 45 countries and whose recommendations all come from expert ambassadors. Accessible via website and app, Star Wine List guides wine lovers to the places with the very best wine lists, across the globe. Today, it launches its first guide to the Loire, with new ambassador Jérôme Boullier, who has added 20 Red Stars to the Star Wine List map and will also be covering Brittany.
Brittany-born Jérôme grew up near Nantes. He entered the wine trade in 2016 and has worked in wine sales, sommelier roles and now wine consultancy, in both France and the UK. He returned to his native region in 2023 and shall now report for Star Wine List on both Brittany and the Loire.
“The wine scene is finally finding the sweet spot between traditions and more contemporary challenges, trends and customer expectations,” he says of the Loire. “In the vineyard, a new generation of well-travelled winemakers is taking over, and pushing the quality of grapes and wines to newer highs. The natural wine scene has been shaking things up quite a bit in the area, and brought sommeliers and buyers from across the world back to the region when it was slowly dying.”
Jérôme’s latest recommendations, along with a handful of existing Red Stars, now form the basis of Star Wine List’s guide to the Loire, directing people to their next glass (or bottle) when in town.
