The Record-Breaking 2025 Golden Vines® Report (Formerly Known as the Gérard Basset Global Fine Wine Report) Is Now Published

Over 830 fine wine & rare spirit professionals from over 110 countries, averaging over 18 years of experience, took part in The 2025 Golden Vines Report Survey, answering questions relating to industry trends, as well as making their nominations for The 2025 Golden Vines Awards which were held in Miami, USA on 8 November 2025. This year, a remarkable pool of voters was made up of more than 41 MWs, 31 MSs, 58 Advanced Sommeliers, and 240 DipWSET and 37 ASI Diploma holders.

The survey determined the winners of eight 2025 Golden Vines® Awards Winners.

    Henschke (Eden Valley, Barossa Valley & Adelaide Hills, Australia)
  • The 2025 Robb Report World’s Best Fine Wine Producer Award Winner:
    Vega Sicilia (Ribera del Duero, Spain)
  • The 2025 Slate Aviation World’s Best Rising Star Award Winner:
    Mullineux & Leeu (Swartland, South Africa)
  • The 2025 Amorim Cork Innovation Award Winner:
    Rosa Kruger, The Old Vine Project, South Africa
  • The 2025 Gérard Basset Foundation Hall of Fame Award Winner:
    Jean Trimbach
  • The 2025 Bacchus World’s Best Rare Spirit Brand Award Winner:
    The Macallan (Speyside, Scotland)

Additionally, one other Golden Vines® Awards was awarded by The 2025 Golden Vines® Sustainability Award Judging Panel:

    Corison (California, US)

Weingut Egon Müller and The Macallan have both secured their third win in their respective categories, earning the prestigious 2025 Golden Vines ‘All-Star’ Producer status. This achievement means they will be ineligible to win the same category again for the next 10 years, though they remain eligible in other categories. This rule ensures continued diversity among future winners while recognising sustained excellence by repeat winners.

The Golden Vines Report maps the micro and macro trends shaping the fine wine and rare spirit sectors. It tells us which regions are trending, and identifies the world’s best producers of fine wines and rare spirits across eight Award Categories.

The 2025 Golden Vines Report has now given birth to an exciting new industry association, The Golden Vines Academy – the world’s preeminent fine wine and rare spirit related community, comprised of 750-plus accomplished individuals and professionals working in the fine wine and rare spirit universe. The Academy is dedicated to upholding excellence in the fine wine and rare spirit industries and acts as a definitive pool of qualified industry experts which define The Golden Vines Awards Winners.

All Golden Vines Awards results have been independently adjudicated by Deloitte LLP, in accordance with the voting rules available on the Liquid Icons website.
